Why didn't Lin just did a one step dribble and shoot for the two??? Did we really need that 3 at the time, I don't remember what the score was up to that point...
Harden is acting a lot like Melo now... that last play was not even meant for him.. you can see Lin was annoyed. ***** diva iso ball! I don't blame Lin for missing that 3, he had not touched the ball much in the 4th. You get cold, it happens. In hindight he had enough space and time to dribble it a bit closer for an easier shot
Thank you for the optimistic post. I didn't think we would win this but I feel like we were watching flashes of a future nba giant down the stretch. We got rolling on offense, starting forcing them into low percentage shots... out worked them on both sides. We just changed our game plan in that last 3 minutes. All the movement stopped. While we saw a couple of big clutch threes, you can't rely on those night after night. Huge progress though. We play that way night in and night out and we're easily in the playoffs.
I am beginning to believe that LIn himself is also responsible for the lackadaisal offense on his part. He passed up so many open looks as well as being afraid to drive. Whenever he got the ball, he seemed to be relieved in passing the ball to someone else. I'm sure coaching has some part to do with - but there is something inherent to him that is not the same anymore. Maybe he is beginning to believe his haters? That airball was epitomy of his offensive play thus far - total lack of confidence. That collective gasp was just unbearable.
I would hardly say that he embarrassed us, he had more block shots than Asik, and played very good defence. He is just not being maximised out on the court at the moment... ...if Lin had hit that 3 point shot you would be calling him a hero, clutch, a winner and saying stuff like 'Linsanity's back!!!!' But he missed it...badly I must add, and now we must all brace ourselves for the scapegoating of Jeremy Lin. Sometimes you're the MAN, & sometimes you're not. I feel so bummed right now, I might go next door and kick their cat.
I wouldn't say its the coach's fault, but unless you're Steve Novak you can't really expect a guy to knock down a 3 on command.
The officials are the worst thing about the NBA. They even had a camera angle on it where "The BIG THREE" were over there influencing him about his job and what calls to make. In the NFL, **** other officials push back the players and they come together and make a call collectively. NBA is too superstar pro, look how many organizations have won since the 1980's? Only 10. 12 years in the NFL and 8 different orgs have won it. Rigged, some of the late calls were bogus.
When lebron has to turn into michael jordan combined with 2 horrible calls at the end of the game to win by 3, im good with the loss. Im happy the turnovers came down tonight and they got asik involved. Lin had a brainfart, nothing to do but move on.
Harden ISO ball might be ok if he started his move earlier in the shot clock and passed out of double teams quicker.
Patience is a virtue clutch fans. The team is young. The season is young. The offensive playbook was rewritten the day after Harden was signed. And they have been in every game.
People need to stop acting like this is a .500 team.......realistically there are 4-5 players that would even crack most rotations on nba teams. This is an inconsistent 30-35 win team and they're playing like it. But people do need to stay patient, what was Kyle Lowry/Dragic doing their 3rd year in the league?
Speak on the shot, I used to play a ton of basketball and I could tell - I think anyone could tell - right away that the arc was way too high and he released it too late. It's a tough break for Lin, but I hope it only makes him stronger.
On a more positive note.. Our defense was pretty impressive tonight for going against the defending champions. Asik was a monster in all aspects of his game, not just defense and rebounding. Marcus Morris had a huge confidence boosting game. He looks like a real contributor this year on offense and defense. Terrence Jones saw the court, albeit for only the last 30 seconds of the first half, suggesting that his PT last game was not just a one and done. Our overall chemistry is getting better and better every night. James Harden and Jeremy Lin both had good overall games despite lackluster 3 pt shooting and the inability to close this one out. If anything they both learned something tonight which is important for them at age 24 and 23 respectively. Kelvin Sampson actively makes adjustments in game and is going deeper down the bench. I think a lot of us on Clutch Fans will grow to like Sampson because of this. If you ask me i could not be happier with todays game. So lets not say Jeremy Lin is a total bust of a signing and call James Harden the next Trevor Ariza. Big picture, we are getting to where we want to go.
