Texas we should keep but if states like Ole Miss want to go, we should start a send off party.

Texas has a reasonably self-sustaining economy and a good fiscal situation. They can probably make a good case to not be hurt economically by secession. And it's clear to me that the majority political viewpoint in Texas is wholly removed from the rest of the U.S.. Texas could adapt its own Constitution with regards the undocumented immigrants, making them modern slaves. It's not a crazy idea in terms of the outcome. But in terms of the process, it probably violates the rights of those in Texas who are civilized and thus opposed to secession. By the way, Rick Perry is stone-cold psycho and he definitely dreams about being President of Texas.

I signed it. At first I thought it was stupid and funny. After thinking about it a while, it would be great for the people of Texas. Why should we suffer from the USA spending itself into oblivion. Puerto Rico could take Texas spot so the flag could stay 50 stars. I know there is no way this could ever happen, but Texans would be much better off. If we installed a 10% flat income tax and start drilling for oil to become energy independent, this little "country" would be rich. We would have to build a wall around the 'country to keep people out as the USA goes down the toilet with out of control spending. lol ROTFLMAO

And send buses to absorb all their blacks. This would turn the SEC into the WAC overnight. Muhahaha!

If Texas secedes I suspect the major metropolitan areas of Texas will vote to rejoin the Union taking most of Texas' economic base with them.

I am wondering about how North Dakota's secession petition is going.

I just want to plumb the depths of your ignorance.

When you say "start drilling for oil," is this because you believe FoxNews that Obama has curtailed drilling in Texas?

No, they cannot. For one, the brain drain would be massive and quick. I would elaborate, but the whole topic is literally too stupid for words.

So, do more liberal cities like Austin and Houston get to withdraw from Texas? We talking local autonomy and all, right?

So the GOP will lose Texas electoral votes and funding defecit.

I assume Obama would happily oblige.

On the plus side, most of the crazy "conservatives" would flock here, leaving the USA much more intelligent in the aggregate.

On the down side, I would have to find a new place to live. :(

Good riddance. As long as the clutchfans server doesn't crash and Houston stays in the NBA, I'll be happy.

Plus, the Republican party will be doomed- having to rely on the Bible Belt for their electoral college wins.

No it wouldn't... Governor Perry would become Emperor Perry and all the freeloaders would be deported to Mexico and Louisiana.
