Now that Pringles has been snatched up mysteriously by LA, maybe the Rockets should consider going after the Master. Jackson would be the perfect coach for this young team if he were to take the job. With the recent pursuit, he sounded as if he was ready to come back. Think about it. Jackson could probably fix Royce White for us. What do you all think?
Why would Phil coach RGV? The Rockets have a coach. They are .500 with a team that was assembled this season and that the best players was added what two-three weeks ago. I am happy with the assistants running things until McHale gets back.
Yeah since PJax only wants to do home games he can just stay back with Royce and watch the team play on tv....assuming he has Comcast. No we're not contending for a few more years. Phil's not waiting around for our team to get it together.
IDK. Think about it. He has a young star in Harden, a nice pg and fan magnet in Lin and a good young frontcourt to work with.
I don't think Les is firing McHale anytime before 3 years, as sad as that makes some. So we need to get over it, b/c here at CF we are never entirely content with our coach.. unless his name is Rudy T.
By waiting around, you are talking about a couple of seasons at the least. There will more than likely be more moves in the future to better the team.
Not a snowball's chance in heck. Phil only takes superstar teams that have championship potential. And to do that, he demands a ton of money, control in basketball decisions, and various other restrictions. The dude has 11 (ELEVEN) rings. He's not going to waste his time developing a team for 3 years for the *possibility* of a contending roster when he can walk into the job for any number of teams that can get him a ring within 1 to 2 years. Not to mention, he's been dating Jeanie Buss for years. IF he comes back, it's doubtful he'll do it in the Western Conference.
I find it inappropriate to speculate about this while our current coach is on leave because of a severe health problem of his daughter.
lol JAX would be a terrible fit for a young team like this. Jackson is a motivator a guy who gets it going with vets not a bunch of rookies.
The thing is though, McHale isn't going anywhere. The only way McHale goes anywhere in the foreseeable future is if he decides to leave because of his family issues. And while McHale may not be my all time favorite coach, I would hate to see him have to step down because of the illness of a family member. I can't imagine Les and Morey forcing McHale out until McHale has a chance to coach our new rebuilt team next year. I also can't see Jackson coming to Houston unless we surround Harden with a couple of true superstars.
