This is why most of the stuff people post is a joke man. Lin is better than Chalmers? By how much? They both play pretty good D and Chalmers has a better jumper. If anything, they are equal. Harden and Wade are equal? Since when? Wade can drop 30 whenever he feels like it. Parsons can't contain LeBron. Nobody in the NBA can contain LeBron. Asik is better than Bosh? LMAO! To end it all, if teams had a choice of Patterson or Battier, I bet they would take Battier for his D, which Patterson doesn't have, his spot up shooting and veteran wisdom. Just give it up. Hope for a good showing tomorrow but that's about it. The only way we win is if Wade and James get injured.
Chalmers really isn't a PG. I personally would take Harden over Wade considering how young Harden is & what he has accomplished thus far in his young career. Asik also really impacts the game against the Heat. When Asik was on the floor against the Miami Heat last season, the Heat shot 29% from the restricted area. When he was off the court in Heat/Chicago matchups? They shot 61%. Despite that we still won't win.
If they keep it within 20 entering the 4th I'll consider it a win tomorrow. Miami might be the worst stylistic matchup for the Rockets right now in the league, because they're one of the very best teams at defending the pick and roll, which is Plan A and Plan Z for Houston. Our two best players in Lin and Harden were both made utterly invisible by Miami last year, because neither has the ball-handling skills or athleticism to get to the rim in an isolation situation. I don't expect that to change. Miami struggles with post-defense, but the Rockets' two best post players are Morris and Motiejunas, neither of whom the coaching staff trusts enough to draw up a play. Patterson is a huge liability against the Heat because his best attribute is low-post defense (which is getting close to Chuck Hayes' level, to his credit). It's completely wasted against Miami, since he's such a passive rebounder and shooter that they can cheat off of him and guard him with a wing like Rashard Lewis or Ray Allen, giving LeBron free reign to harass Harden. It's really unfortunate that Terrence Jones slept with all of the coaching staff's daughters (at the same time), and has been sentenced to the doghouse for his actions, since I think this is an excellent matchup for his particular strengths. He's much quicker laterally than Patterson, allowing him to at least attempt to guard LeBron without giving up too much strength, and has that Z-Bo quality of attracting garbage offensive rebounds so he requires the attention of a power player, either James or Haslem. If LeBron is forced to guard him, that's the best perimeter defender in the game being forced to guard a decoy on offense. If they bring in Haslem, they're not using their most terrifying and effective lineup.
guess who was in foul trouble??? SHANE BATTIER!!!! only played 16 ins tonite...if patterson would stop playing timid he can dominate battier as well
Can you read...I stated that Asik was better in the sense of rebounding and getting space in the paint because of his 50 lbs advantage. CONTEXT CLUES PPL!!!!
The title and this guy's user seem too matched for that thread title to be a typo. "Heavy Dose of Patterson in Asik on Monday vs Heat" and Bleedrockets... Sounds painful.
how about you grow up...you were prolly one that made some smart comment about McHale taking a leave of absence
You made me scroll up to read what's in the parenthesis  But yes, we of course have a chance. The good news is, it's their 2nd night of a back to back. The bad news: they lost today. Badly. I guess Lebron and co. will not be in a mood to lose 2 straight. Yay!
Lol, dude chill out. What are you talking about? I wish McHale the best, and, uh, like you can see the users who posted "some smart comment about McHale" right there in the thread. It just a joke, calm down.
Asik also had Taj Gibson when the Heat shot 29%. Don't get me wrong, I think Asik was the better part of that pairing and he singlehandedly gives us a shot on D, but I doubt we'll be able to get the Heat to shoot 29% unless everyone steps up and we have very few mistakes.
