This is to clarify turnovers and help give perspective to some of the parrots that repeatedly - even til this day talk as if Lin has a turnover issue. These are the same people that don't bother to follow the NBA, parrot names of other players in the NBA and blatantly ignore the contribution by teammates in the 1st and 2nd unit. Sample around the league for reference. Rajon Rondo : 4/2/2/4/4/4 = 20 TO Deron Williams : 4/4/7/3 = 18 (in 4 games) Ty Lawson 0/3/4/1/4/2/6 = 20 TO Damian Lillard 6/2/3/1/3/4 = 19 TO Tony Parker 0/1/5/1/4/4/0= 15 TO Chris Paul 2/1/5/2/1/2 = 13 TO Raymond Felton 3/4/2/2 = 11 TO (4games) Goran Dragic 3/1/3/2/2/3/2 = 16 TO (7 games) Kyle Lowry 2/5/2/1 = 10 TO in 4 games - 4th game only .. 17 minutes before Ankle Injury. Thus its more honest to note that he had 9 TOS in just 3 games. The Morey Interview that should help those just looking at boxscores - understand they should watch the actual games. http://www.isportstimes.com/articles/4125/20121108/jeremy-lin-keeps-turning-over-ball-rockets.htm "Many of Jeremy's turnovers are charges. These are the best turnovers to have as not only do charges mean that you are being aggressive as a player (when good things often happen) but also turnover charges are not "live ball" turnovers where teams get a higher expected value possession the other way. For example, in our opening Detroit game, Jeremy had no "bad pass" turnovers. They were all charges or off the dribble. Compare his lack of any bad pass turnovers to his 12 "high quality" passes in the game (passes he made that set up high percentage offense for others) This leads into my next point that Jeremy's passes were the best in the league last year in the percentage that led to high quality offense. This is a fancy way of saying that when he makes a risky pass it is usually for a high reward so his bad pass turnovers, when he has them, are not as bad as for other guards as his avg possession efficiency remains higher Finally, most young guards who are going to be very good start as high turnover players in college and in their early seasons in the pros and get better throughout their career"
you should have mentioned Jure Holiday who is playing like "Linsanity" recently... 5.3 TOV per game so far...
I wouldn't waste your time OP...a lot of ppl here a like parrots spewing out the same old crap in regards to lin without any sufficient data to back it up.
I'll even bet some ppl will get on here saying that Knight "destroyed" Lin today by citing the stats regardless of the fact that most of Knight's points came in garbage time and against TD. Lin had in on lockdown today.
I love how Lin's turnovers are so overblown. He had an extremely high usage rate last year. Jrue Holiday's leading the league in turnovers and I have no doubt his usage rate is extremely high right now.
Jlin would have to play perfect basketball to satisfy the haters. Even then, it would be because he played against weak competition, e.g. any excuse to not break their ego and insecurity.
Yes. Lin has lower TOs. Good..... Now back to studying for your chemistry exam. projecting yourself on Lin is not healthy because sooner or later you have to go out and face the real world and Lin will not be there for you. Lin's TO average will even out after 82 games. The bright side is so are his points, steals, rebounds and assists. Watch.
Its early in the season, but here are a few stats for PGs who've played at least 20 min/g and at least 4 games (40 in all). After reading his alot of his posts I gotta agree. He's attached himself with Lin so much, that any criticism becomes a personal attack. I think you might want to read pretty much ALL your posts and see who is the overdefensive, insecure ego here.
I hate being presented with logical arguements. That means I have to go research a couterarguement. That's not how the Internet works!
I just noticed that the stats didn't include last night's game, where Lin had 8 assists and 0 turnovers. So, his rankings probably improved.
Thanks. Yeah I was looking through your sig and wondering where you found the PPR. I dowish basketball-reference would distinguish between PG/SG and SF/PF. I tried to pick out PGs by only looking at players with 20+ MPG and 30+ AST% which worked decently but only found 28 players.
I wish he would actually attack more even if he has to turn it over a little bit more. He plays too passive now. Turned a good point guard into an average spot up shooter.
