No I'm complaining about what SAMPSON said. If you watched the game, you could see that Jeremy was gone inexplicably for a long time. People thought he was being benched for a mistake he made.

As a matter of fact, the same happened the last game too, where Jeremy sat out a huge chunk of the 4th quarter before coming in to make a difference.

Having closely watched the game and wondering why da hell Jeremy wasn't playing as much when in fact when he was in he was playing pretty well (it was so obvious that I thought he was injured) was a headscratcher for me. And when I finally heard Sampson's reason, it just confirmed that he really doesn't think highly of Jeremy for whatever reason.

Again, he said TD was a better match up against the back up guard of the worst team in the league - that Jeremy doesn't play with a faster pace. He didn't say he kept him in because the team was doing well.

Do you agree with that sentiment? Don't you think that show utter disrespect for Jeremy as a player?

It's mind boggling that the coaching staff still fails to trust him.

 

That is not his character. He wants to let his game to speak for himself.

Sampson would've gotten a +13 tonight if he suited up himself.

No the best players play when the coach thinks he can make a difference. At the time, Jeremy was inexplicably gone for a long stretch in the game to the point if people thought he was injured. When he was gone, Jeremy was not playing badly at all (ie getting burnt by Bynum to warrant benching).

Sampson thought TD was a better option because he had a better match up not by what was happening in the game but by what the coach thought based on their skill set.

That is utter disrespect in my book. Let's see if they ever take out Harden if he starts missing shot and limit his time to 25 minutes a game.

So despite all of this Sampson was fully prepared to have Lin finish the game.... and had he done so Lin would have had his 30+ mins

You wanted him to stop the game, stop the Rockets run and just throw in Lin for the heck of it? That's what McHale did a few games back with Morris, Morris was playing well...but nope, McHale had to toss in PPat to get his minutes.

Any ways this is not going any where. Not sure why we are complaining about coaching decisions when the team wins big, no matter who it is against though.

If your reasoning is correct then they should keep everyone who had made a run and keep the rest on the bench. The fact of the matter is in the nba its common for bench players to make a run until your star players come back in when they are well rested. The case in point is early in the 4th quarter when harden came back in after his rest before Jeremy although Jeremy was taken out before him in the third quarter. This was when TD and the gang were extending the lead.

I understand if you fail to see it now. For me I'm making my point based on last game and this game. I do not feel that they are treating Jeremy like a star player that I think he is. However, if you don't view him as such, then u may fail to see this double standard that is being applied to Jeremy by his coaches.

 

No you live in Taiwan right? Do they broadcast games there? I don't want people making points based on a stat sheet when the didn't get to watch the game.

Both.. For someone who needs to be more involved with the offense, I thought he was gone for long stretches- almost as if he was being benched or injured.

As a sidenote, Jeremy's parents were in the crowd last night. During a Steiner Sports interview, Jeremy said that he doesn't know why but he plays better when his mom is in attendance.

Mama Lin....you should attend EVERY Rockets home game.

 

No tx. I have NBA league pass. Glad u don't feel as if Lin got jipped. To be honest, I hope I'm wrong about the coaching staff. I believe in Jeremy as a playmaker and the coaching staff to trust him and develop him into one of the elite pg in the league.

Lets see if they trust him enuff against Miami to leave him in the game even as a learning experience.

But I stand by my point.. And I will happily eat crow if I'm proven wrong.
