I give it a solid B. Superior in every way to McHale's. I barely saw anything that made me go "That was dumb."

Everything against the Pistons should be graded on a huge curve.

The offense was still the same, the difference was the level of competition.

There are some things that he did that I don't think McHale would have done. Like call a timeout when the Pistons cut that like 16 point lead down to 8. I think McHale would have waited a bit longer so I liked that.

He did use more of the bench, but that could have been something they talked about. As it WAS their 2nd b2b so it's possible that McHale realized that the first b2b they wore the guys out and they talked about using more bench players.

They looked much better...but then again they played the Pistons.

Playing against the Pistons only allows for a pass/fail scale. So - pass.

The Offense looked a lot better but, they are the pistons after all.

Incomplete until I see him manage a close game.

He did everything right, substitution-wise tonight, though. I doubt McHale would have done the same.

I second this. It's the Pistons, I'd like to see his rotations and coaching against Miami.

Lets see how he coaches against a real team. Miami will be a loss, but it will be interesting.

For sure. Rockets were shooting 37% from the floor until 3 minutes left, and BLOWING OUT the Pistons LOL

There were a lot of coaching decisions and substitutions made based on circumstance rather than by adjustment. We didnt see things major like Sampson putting Chandler Parson on the poin guard, or a small ball 3 rookie lineup or anything "genius"

Rockets are playing 3 games in 4 days. The last game against the best team and defending champions Miami Heat. Needed to cut back on some starters minutes and get others involved.

But there was at least TRUST in the younger players like Greg Smith, Morris and T Jones to make plays. And there seemed a little more emphasis on having Lin run things rather than have Harden be the lone playmaker.

He gets a B. He did what he needed to do, he didnt fail and tank at home against the Pistons

IMO, i think we should play Greg Smith, T. Jones and Cook coming off the bench.

Bench should be maybe Douglas, Delfino, Cook, T. Jones and Greg Smith or Aldrich.

    B.

Made the obvious decisions. Pat Pat stunk it up, he gets benched. Morris gets rewarded for good play. Alrich made some dumb plays, Greg Smith gets rewarded for being competent. No choice but to play Douglas. Ran more P&Rs where Asik actually gets the ball.

Still bad choice with iso calls for Harden at end of quarters. I rather see us run normal plays at the end of a quarter than letting James chuck up a low% shot. The miss shots only lowers his confidence.

Stevie Wonder could have coached this Rox team over the Pistons. Nothing to see here folks, move it along.

From the worst opponent to one of the best...can he still sustain? Interesting.

Not worth even discussing - these are the Pistons, the worst team in the league - they have the wizards beat this season.

I like his post-game interview. He mentioned Patterson's reduced minutes. Not happy with Patterson's rebounding and that he has to earn the right to stay on the floor.

That's what I'm talking about! Patterson has been comfortable b/c he knows McHale will play him a lot of minutes. Now he has to earn them which is how it should be!
