    He got a basket taken away because he didn't beat the shot clock. Harden also lost an assist.

    Refs looked at the basket on the replay and ruled that the playclock expired before he got off the shot.

    Rockets vs. Pistons v2

    Watching the game tonight I was very impressed with the Rockets defense. Shut them down and never let up. As you all probably know by now I don't watch the ball. I watch the spacing and the defense. The reason I love defense is that it is 40% effort and 40% team play. It tells me where they are headed as a team.

    It is nice to see the rookies play. It is probably obvious to everyone by now that none of the rookies are ready like Parsons was last year. NBA ready. And I do not really want to hear that Sampson played the rookies and McHale did not. Coaching for the Rockets is a team effort. They will do as they see fit, but I am comfortable that playing time is a group coaching decision. And you certainly could do worse than Bickerstaff, Finch and Sampson.

    Asik is looking like second team all NBA defense choice. And I know everyone has heard that defense wins championships. Don't forget it.

    The replay bore this out. The 24 second light was on, the ball was still in Lin's hand.
