    The Tourist.

He can play a lost simpleton tourist and a super manipulative genius... all in one movie. GOAT.

The most classic and legendary film on the list and the most authentic collaboration between him and Burton, after that, Blow and Donnie Brasco I don't know what else I'd like from him. I haven't seen Gilbert Grape but I bet the setting is close enough to his upbringing that he gives a good performance in it.

Not sure what I'm missing that keeps others from despising Buffalo Roam or Fear and Loathing.

I don't like Johnny Depp. Whenever he plays a character with some eccentricity, he does it so over the top to where I can't suspend my disbelief anymore. I'm fine with him when he plays normal humans (e.g. Finding Neverland, What's Eating Gilbert Grape) or is doing voice acting (e.g. Corpse Bride, Rango); otherwise, I'll pass.

Also, I'm convinced my friends who praise Fear and Loathing do so because, as they say, "it's like one big acid trip, coooool!" and so forth; I doubt any of them could sit through any other Terry Gilliam film. I like Brazil, but Terry Gilliam is just tedious sometimes.

Oh, and I hate Fear and Loathing.

Not a huge fan of Johnny Depp movies, but I did like Donnie Brasco and Platoon.
