I just think these are some crazy stats. He's also had over 11 assists every game - this guy is a beast, just sayin'.
Quoted. For. Truth. I remember having debates last year about if Rondo for Lowry would be a good trade for Rockets. Not once, but often. Lol. Really?
how can any point guard not in that system? he gets the ball every possession, stands on the top of the key until someone comes off a screen and throws it for that person or Garnett. rinse repeat. he has the ball on every possession.
he's beasting but his lack of a jumpshot and ft woes are pathetic. The fact that NBA defenders often give him 10 feet after all his years in the league is a sad indictment of his inability to have any sort of NBA touch on his J. That said, he's top 3 PG in my book.
Rondo gets assists, but the Celtics are consistently in the bottom half of teams offensively despite other good offensive players in the lineup (Allen, Pierce, Bass, Garnett). He's a great talent, and probably the best passer in the NBA, but IMO scoring point guards are the really valuable ones. Teams run by facilitating point guards just don't have a good track record. The NBA is shifting towards having better ball handlers at other positions and point guards that are more like shooting guards with good passing, e.g. Russell Westbrook. Also, point guards have a smaller impact on the game than other positions (except center). How many championship teams have a point guard as the best player?
He's just in a great system. Have you guys watched any celtics game in the past 2 years? Rondo gets most of his assists from jump shooters, he often passes to the guy coming off the screen for the 12-18 foot jumper. And they have good jump shooters
He's a nasty PG. I remember hearing some people calling him overrated. Couldn't wrap my mind around it.
