Hi beer lovers. I just searched through the St. Arnold's threads, but all but the IPA one (from May) have gone necro. I have tried a few already this year, (not including St. A's), but here's my early favorite: red-black pour and wonderfully complex and robust taste. Nothing sweet about this one really, and nothing bitter either. And you can hardly beat a reference to the band Slayer. The cherry on top? 7.2%! I often like the Celebration Ale from Sierra Nevada, but it is nothing special this year, IMHO. Others?
Cool. Do you mean this year's batch? They are always so different. The Anchor tour is free and very fun if you ever visit San Francisco, btw. Great story.
Forgot about Shiner Cheer, I had it a while ago and thought it sucked. The stuff from this year is delicious.
last year's batch was suspect...much crisper this year I think I have overdone it with the St Arn's Christmas Ale...going to have start diversifying here soon.
How's the Karbach one? I'll try it cause it's a Houston brew, but their beers on the whole are pretty gross.
been meaning to try it for the same reason..but as a whole I agree with your assessment (although I would rank their Octoberfest ahead of St Arnolds) http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/karbach-yule-shoot-your-eye-out/158069/ not sure how I feel about the descriptions...
I've only had I think 2 beers from karbach, but I like them both better than anything St. Arnold has to offer.
The Pro-Am? Agreed on Southern Star. I've liked everyone of their beers so far. Buried Hatchet my favorite.
