No kidding. I can't wait to see this flick! Maybe the CGI will be tinkered with before release. We can only hope.
If they didn't claim it was a World War Z adapation I'd be fine with it but it so far off from the source material that it's bothersome. Of course I'll still go watch it because I love anything with zombies, I'll get over my issues but like someone mentioned earlier an HBO series would have been a better avenue.
What befuddles me is that Brad Pitt would associate himself with a project that goes so far off the reservation. Heck, I'm still going to retain my optimism. Perhaps we'll all be surprised?

He is a producer so he might be behind the changes, at least partly. Still very early, so like you said, we might end up being surprised.
http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/paramount/worldwarz/ Based on the first trailer, it looks like it will be a big letdown. The book is so well done. Unfortunate.
This movie is a hot mess. Bad things kept leaking over the summer about it. It was supposed to be released this xmas but the clusterf-ck that was production pushed it to summer 13. I was hoping that maybe leaks were exagerated but after the trailer I'm gonna wait for it on video. FYI, very few films that experience the troubles this movie did during filming turn out good. When they do it's when there's singular vision is driving it (Coppola and Apocalypse Now) or they get really lucky (Pirates of the Caribbean).
The movie looks terrible from the trailer. Why are the zombies moving at turbo speed? And the CG effects look like SyFy Channel quality.
Yeah, this will be a disaster. It was tempting when the idea first came up, but I've heard nothing but terrible news about this making of this film since it started. Yall can go see it; I'll pass.
I know people love to complain about Walking Dead but their special effects are 1,000,000,000 times better than this CGI bs.
Remember the Illuminati likes to portray future events through the media, so that the masses dont freak out when it really happens. Stop hiding from the truth people.
Zombie flicks should be done with as many practical effects as possible, enhanced with some selective CGI not the other way around. Don't forget about Tombstone which was a deeply troubled production...
Looks like it should go straight to DVD. What a disappointment that trailer is! Look out for those swarming beetle zombies!
Looks entertaining and of course it's nowhere near as powerful as the book... This looks like rock em sock em good fun to me, no???
so trailer numero dos is out (on mobile. just search youtube). looks kinda meh. doesn't really seem like a zombie/virus movie. trailer needed a close up of at least one zombie/infected person. everything just looks like it's on fast forward.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4EC7P5WdUko" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I have had with these MotherF&%cking Zombies on this plane!
So I guess they are just using the book title? Because I don't see any of the book in the trailers (though obviously you couldn't make a movie based on the book considering it is just recollections from numerous people).
Could be an entertaining movie, but I don't really see the point of calling it World War Z, as the only thing it looks to have in common with the book is there are creatures called zombies which are in no way similar other than their desire to kill people, and a few characters may share the same names. Could still be decent on it's own merits, but WWZ really would have been outstanding as an HBO mini series Band of Brothers style.
I heard they were still doing some re-shoots pretty recently. People who liked the book will be disappointed if they have the book in mind when they see this.
