I agree. Neither of these teams have young up and coming players that can replace the likes of Dirk, Duncan, Manu, ect.... There window is shrinking for sure. Interestingly, with Houston's average player now 23 years old, we should be peaking about the time these teams fade.
The three J's was just the beginning of an era that got shorted out by dumbassery. There was potential in that team. The era before the three J's is what you mean, with Luscious Sweet and Tony Dumas.
Actually, Roy Tarpley screwed them. They used to have a respectable team in the 80s with Blackman, Harper, Perkins, and Tarpley.
