Well, the Tea Party hated Romney it appears: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YhTfXnugzOo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Sure, we held racist and ignorant signs and slogans that may or may not have been spelled correctly and many of us had NO IDEA what we were actually protesting......but at least we didn't **** on cars or rape or murder anybody!
the tea party is a legit response to the financial bailout bush signed in 08. it is the dupes who kept getting duped by the southern strategy (establishment republicans who only care about taxes using wedge issues like abortion to round up base) finally fed up with GOP establishment like gwb who don't really care about them. they aren't going anywhere, but they will continue to splinter the GOP
Not if they keep on having people like Sharon Angle, Christine O'Donnell and Todd Akin as their standard bearers. My view is the Tea Party phenomenon has gotten as far as it can go. They have a few successes in Nicki Haley, Rand Paul and Michelle Bachmann (while Scott Brown got Tea Party support his views and record were not well aligned with them) but as the first list shows they have had some spectacular failures. I have a hard time believing that outside of a few very red states the Tea Party is going to have much more success.
Disagreeing with Obama's policies is not racist. You just pull out that card because you have no intellectual ammunition to lodge against the tea parties.
No, he pulled out that card because he, I, and many others witnessed it and it discredits their message. And you acting like it never happened just discredits yours.
You could well be right. For example, with the re-election of Obama I have relinquished my participation as a retiree from active politics. However, if you are for debt reduction, you might be a tea partier. If you want a smaller, less intrusive government, you might be a tea partier. If you love your constitutional rights, you might be a tea partier. If you want actual government transparency rather than lip service, you might be a tea partier. You get the drift.
As with the Occupy movement or any other mass movement, there are always a few idiots. I don't deny that, but the press had to strain to find these examples. I never saw anything like that, and I attended quite a few rallies.
Maybe but in general the Tea Partiers are just another subset of working class folks who are being used to advance corporate and very wealthy interests.
But you don't have to and a lot of people follow those things and are not and do not want any part of the Tea Party. Yes, the Tea Party has some positions that are very popular but they also have some positions and people that are not.
The tea party has nothing to do with being intellectual. That's my whole problem with it. It's all OBAMA IS A SOCIALIST MOOOOSLIM WITH NO BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!!11. All style, no substance. Even if you and your friends have substance, you need to do something about the other people who don't because they're the ones representing your movement. Has nothing to do with any media conspiracy either. That's the kind of thinking that has lost the last 2 elections. "We didn't do anything wrong, it's the liberal media!!!!!11" Wrong.
