its not always about you, bro.. youre that guy haha but seriously, its baffling mchales thinking is.. He cuts Livingston in favor foney douglas, its laughable says morris earned these minutes and thats fine, but havent TJones has also? what about Donuts? please play them kevin
Smith is more of a center, isn't he? I think Aldrich is a decent back up, whereas Donuts would take some minutes away from Marcus Morris, and provide some creativity on the low post.
[rquoter]You mentioned the style you'd like to play but you'll get caught in the half-court every now and then. If you had to get a bucket and wanted to go into the low post, who is your best low post option? That's not a strength. Patrick has worked hard on his post game. Terrence Jones can post up a little bit although he is more face-up. Our best low post game/guy is Donatas Motiejunas. He's actually probably not known for that. He uses his quickness in the post vs strength like most but he is our strongest post player.[/rquoter]
well if they are going to dump the ball into Asik to give him a chance to develop his offensive game... then mights as well play the rookies too...
Personally, I'd rather see a Morris-Jones front court for the handling second units. Jones and Patterson are both defensive guys with reach and some decent if inconsistent scoring so it would be better to pair them with a big that has more offensive abilities.
If these rookies get sent to the d league then I would just have to further understand why do many players around the league look at this organization as one to not trust. We have talent and maturity right in front of us and let it sit on the bench. That's why at times I'm happy we don't get great young players out of college because we won't play them unless the nba hype of popularity for Ed of too... Still gets me that we had Jeremy Lin right before New York but Morey and moreso McHale didn't see Lin was ready enough to play on a higher level then Johnny Flynn.

No, No, No. This unit needs the 3/4 to be able to knock down shots to keep the defense honest. I guess you haven't been watching the past two games because the defense is packing the paint against Harden/Lin to take away their driving lanes to the basket. You really trust White to be able to keep the defense more honest from the 3 point line then currently the Rockets best 3 point shooter in Delfino??? So no, White cannot play the 3 right now, and it has nothing to do with his beer belly.
If the plan is to make PPatt, Morris, etc. look good enough to move for a trade at the deadline, I'm all for it.
Ok...what do you do for a living? Let's say you're a restaurant manager(probably giving you too much credit), and you've put yourself in a situation where you are knowingly giving away free drinks to allow the bartender to make more money on tips & develop his bartending skills. All the while you know that the owner see's the inventory reports, and the TABC is monitoring your activity. So, you might make the bartender a little more money that night, and maybe he becomes a better bartender in the end from serving so many drinks(valuable asset for the restaurant), but you are putting yourself out of a job in the meantime, ruining your reputation as a reliable manager, and risking the wellbeing of the restaurant. All the while, putting your owner out of business. Does this sound like a great idea? McHale has played unproven rookies before if the starters underperform, and the rookies prove themselves in practice alone. So just pipe down, and realize- ITS JUST 4 FREAKING GAMES INTO THE SEASON.
Of course we haven't been watching the past 2 games, many of us don't have CSN Houston (thanks Rockets!!). I haven't seen a game all year, including preseason.
to develop rookies is kinda part of job for a coach, especially on this young team with a bunch of promising rookies, we are not contender, we are arguably playoff team now, its never a better time than now to play ur rookies. u really surprised me by comparing restaurant manager to NBA coach, a lot in common huh?
The rookies aren't playing because they are bad at playing NBA basketball. This shouldn't be this hard to understand! They are worse than the Rockets' rotation players--who some may argue are not very good themselves--and they are worse even than some NBDL players. They are on the roster to serve as reluctant depth in case of injuries, to get better during practices, and to get better during blowouts, and even to get better after a couple of them are shipped to the D-league so they can commiserate with players of their skill level. I've never seen a weirder source of unfounded outrage than a handful of players so bad at basketball that they probably should not be on an NBA roster, let alone the Rockets' rotation.
I like Aldrich. I feel like he could be a solid part of the rotation once the chemistry issues are resolved.
