This certainly puts a new spin on the "tanking vs. non-tanking" argument... RM95, people are frustrated and want to vent about it. Surely you can understand that, right?
I don't think that is the case. Houston is the 4th largest city in the nation so there will be more pressure on CSN to get deal done with major providers. I would be surprised if our comcast is like Blazers/Comcast but it's unlikely it will happen. I hope the deal will be done at some point in this season.
Also Portland just has the Blazers. I'm prepared to miss the entire year, but I'm sure once the crappy Astros start playing they'll get a deal done...as if people are going to watch the Astros
I get that, and think that Comcast just doesn't have the leverage now since the Texans are keeping most sports fans around here happily occupied. If a deal gets done this year, it'll be after the football playoffs - my worthless prediction.
If there's one franchise that truly can't afford to be off the air it's the Houston Astros as they head into the AL next season.
So what you are saying is that DirectTV and Uverse are being merciful by proactively trying to prevent DH-related suicides.
Comcast when I had it--Bill prices MUCH higher than advertised due to tons and tons of fees (not just normal tax). No consistency of pricing from bill to bill, and all changes were upward. Calls to customer service to get it straightened out resulted in being given the run-around. Shoddy internet service which cut out frequently (the only plus was higher bandwidth). Less channels than competitors for more money. On a broader scale, shady business practices like buying up huge swathes of territory to institute a monopoly in that area. Horrifying lobby positions. Comcast is just a TERRIBLE company, and I'm sad to see my Rockets and Astros in the saddle with them. I mainly blame them for this fiasco.
For perspective... I'm about to switch carriers. But CSNHouston has nothing to do with it. I'm switching from Dish to DTV. The HD quality is better and I'll save money in the short term. Even though I'm still missing Rockets games, Comcast just isn't an option for me. One day I'll have to share the reason why.
I can understand that. And don't call me Shirley. I'll leave my snark out of this and I apologize if I pissed anyone off. I sincerely hope this is resolved soon. If LonghornFan can find his way beyond 610 out to Katy, I'll invite him to the mancave to catch the next game. You and MadMax are invited too.
Sorry for the internet rage, bruh. Horrible morning. Hell, all families fight and then we have beers and hugs! I'm the LAST one who should be calling people immature on a message board. It's my only place where I don't have to be a grown up!
This is such a bummer. I love Direct TV and put a lifetime ban on Crapcast a 5 years ago... Anyone having any luck getting DTV discounts due to threatening to cancel?
