    Edit

Cannot take any more Toney Douglas games. Missed layups, missed shots, dribbling with no direction, turning away from hot hand 2Pat early in that 4th quarter, and even trying to wave Lin off from re-entering the game after his blood nose. Unbelievable ..2/18 FGM/FGA

Given that we have no chance to compete for at least a couple of years, backup PG can certainly wait. Besides, Morey's the guy who found Brooks, Lowry, Dragic, and lesser extent Lin in a 4 year period. It is certainly the position he's most capable of finding talent at. The only reason we kept Douglas here is because of his guaranteed $2mil expiring contract.

I'm not in a hurry to make a trade for a PF. If something looks too good to pass up, then I'm sure Morey will jump at it. But, I think we need to use this season to try and determine the talent level of the players currently on our roster. McHale and Morey are now giving PPat, Smith and Morris their opportunity to sink or swim. I suspect as the season moves forward we will see TJones and D-Mo get an opportunity to show us what they are capable of.

By the end of the season Morey should have a much better idea about which players we should keep and which players should go. It's hard to even know what position we should be drafting for at this point because we have so many question marks on our roster. We have all these young guys and it will probably take a full season sort all this out.

I don't think we should be so concerned about wins and loses this year, I just want to see what players emerge from the pack, we have a long way to go.

I might agree with you if McHale ever shakes off his inner JVG and plays these rookies that he and Morey supposedly had such a boner for.

This pretty much. None of the player that the OP suggested anyway would take this team very far. The ideal player would be a Kevin Love or Demarcus Cousins type but those two seem impossible.

With the right moves, I think the Rockets are a legit playoff team next season. I like Harden, Lin, and Asik. I suspect one of Patterson, Morris, Jones, or DMo turns into a good starter by next season with one of those or White becoming a good backup. I think the Rockets need to get Harden a Robin and some backcourt depth. I expect backcourt depth will come from trading a PF.

A lot of work for Morey to do still so no guarantee that Rockets are good next season.

It's only been four games, seventy eight games remain. I think the plan is to give players like PPat and Morris the opportunity to prove what they can do without the distraction of inconsistent minutes and having to fight for a spot in the rotation. I think McHale has decided instead of having a different rotation every night, he's saying to PPat and Morris that you are getting your chance to prove to everyone what you are capable of. No excuses for PPat or Morris this year about not being part of the rotation, this is their chance to shine, they need to take advantage of this opportunity.

I think after McHale and Morey have seen what they have in PPat and Morris, we will then see what TJones and D-Mo can do. It's hard to be patient we we are all curious to see what the rookies can do, but I'm beginning to understand that McHale wants to give PPat and Morris a fair chance before he starts playing the Rookies.
