He was solid under Woodson as the starting pg for the Knicks. They did go 6-1 before Lin got injured.

I truly hope that is NOT the case. If so, Lin needs to speak up. He didn't get all this money to become a passive ball facilitator.

Are you serious? This is starting to get out of hand, complete speculation and not even common sense. Why would Sampson tell Lin to defer when he only took 9 shots, tied for the least on the team? Please.

Yeah he was average 14 and 6 with Woodson on 41% which is still a lot better than he's shooting now.

I saw that at the end of the 1st QUARTER when sampson was saying something to Lin - he didn't look happy like Jeremy did something wrong. But maybe that is why Lin ended up with only 9 shots?

You said it! It seems Lin isn't given the green light from the get go in running the offense. This is so frustrating, I could scream, but I have to remind myself to calm down as this is only the 4th game out of a 80+ game season. I guess I was spoiled in watching Linsanity, having Lin direct the floor and passing to his open team mates. Of course, his shooting was much more efficient than now.

The coaches bring Lin in for the final 6-8 minutes of the game? What is up with that? Aaaaaargh!

Isn't McHale suppose to be a PNR coach? Where the heck was the PNR plays? This is going to be a loooooong season.

Smh @ LOF's blaming the coaches for Lin's struggles. He has to shoulder most of the blame himself. Do you think McHale tells him to pass up wide open shots? Do you think McHale tells him to only start playing at the end of the fourth quarter ? He is getting paid. He has to blame himself if he can't play. I don't expect this shooting funk for him to last since he has been shooting free throws so well. But you guys are utterly embarrassing here. Do you know what really good players do ? They man the **** up when things are not going as they should be. Do you think Rondo or Lebron would start making these wrong plays if their coach called for it. No they would not.

The coach is not paying Lin his paycheck. He has to improve and realize that whether he likes it or not, he is the second scoring option on this team.

You need to relax yourself. Opposing teams are going to pack the paint & make it harder for Lin & Harden to attack the rim & dare our team to shoot 3's. The few times Harden attacked he was getting hacked but no calls were being made. That is how we will get beat most of the time. Basketball is a very complex sport it isn't just on ONE player it is a lot more complex than that. Those blaming Parsons, Harden Lin Asik whoever need to relax. This team isn't built to be a title winner there the youngest team in the NBA.

You can find the Clyde's commenting about the assistant coach Sampson own words if somebody repost the game on Youtube. Clyde was suggesting to get more guys involved on offense. Very good insight.

I kinda understand the coaching stuff are trying now to let Harden runs offense. After all, he performed spectacular before today's game. I will wait them to realize what Clyde said was right about not solely using Harden to initiate offense. Next game Harden would face Tony Allen and Lebron, all elite defenders. If Harden all gets shut down, maybe the coaching stuff will realize.

I agree that Lin's shooting is crap. He has nobody to blame. But if you didn't notice that he was passing and deferring to Harden way lot more than he should, then I doubt if you really watched the game.

relax guys.. just the fourth game.. this is expected..

just remember.. this is a new young rockets team... not the knicks..
even nuggets had 3 straight loss earlier on.. Nuggets!
looking at 3rd quarter and the last, not bad...
    the benchers are getting better..
They may have followed whatever strategy planned..
So, the plan not working too well.. The sky is not falling..

On to the next game and hopefully better plan..
I still don't think we should give rookies playing time yet.. so far, no major injuries..

Yeah, Lin should just take it to the hoop by himself every play. The Rockets would definitely win games then....Wait, they might even win a championship.

I don't think anyone is denying that Lin was passing and deferring a lot in this game.

The question is is this due to his lack of confidence or just coaching (not having the green light). Him attempting only 9 shots in the game definitely is due to one of the two. IF it's the former, then he has no one to blame. IF this is due to latter, then coaching is hampering his game.

I was suspecting, like so many other here, that Lin being uncharacteristically passive probably has something to do with coaches strategy. I say this because Clyde was mentioning the assistant coach Sampson's own words on offense at the beginning. Go re-watch the game before you call other people crazy.

The Rocket should sign Novak instead of Lin.We can have Novak bring the ball upcourt ,pass it to Harded then wait for the ball at the corner ,as Lin is doing now,for a 3 point shot .Novak is a much better 3 point shooter then Lin.With Harden in the team,we won't need a point guard!

Go to rockets.com. There is a post game interview with Lin. He apologized for showing up late as he and Chandler were practicing shooting 3's after the game.
