Some of us never thought we were ever a playoff contender even with James Harden. I was hoping I was wrong but it doesn't seem like it so far. :(

Do you guys still think Harden can be a legit #1 option on this team?

I'm not saying he is or isn't but the attitude on this message board has definitely changed from the first 2 games. What's going on guys?

    knee-jerk...

just like all of the other threads saying we are a playoff team after the first two games.

I hope you realize the first 10 games really won't tell us anything conclusive about this team.

Yes, this team still has playoff potential with him as our #1 guy. We may not make it but we got what it takes.

Denver is stacked with depth, which just so happens to be our teams number one weakness. If we played Denver 20 times we would probably lose at least 19 of those games.

Btw, Harden is not the only closer on our team, IMO. Lin has blood of a closer.

Yes. because we all know a whole bunch youngsters with 1-3 years of NBA experience, never played together before in their lives, with a new core player entering just 3 days before the first game... obviously a team with no upside.

If the Rockets truly are a .500 team as of right now, then they will become a playoff team by season end.

We need a coach that runs plays from an NBA playbook instead of the youth Y playbook.

knee jerk thread. Seriously get out of here if this is how you react after a loss. Next game they'll win and everything is hunky dory and Harden is an All-Star. give it a 25 game sample before we determine "who they are" as a team. *****

Last couple games were a major reality check. I think it will be a challenge for this team to win even half their games.

Nice game from Patterson. But we need some of these role players to start having big games consistently (i.e. develop into something more than a mere role player). Right now, its like we don't know what we'll get from one game to the next. Pretty much the only constant has been Asik's rebounding/defense.

Another premature ejaculation of a thread. Is this how its going to be after every game? Euphoria or euthanasia? Nothing in between? This is a long season with a lot of wins and loses coming up, pace yourselves.

The Rockets were in it to the end even on a horrible shooting night. Harden will not play this badly every game. And Lin can flat out play, even when he's not scoring. I hope some team covets Patterson after this game.

I STILL think this is a playoff team with a competent coach.
3 whole days of practice and the offense looks worse than it did when they barely knew each other.

McHELL during time out: Guys, you're moving and cutting too much during offense, remember what we did in practice, stand around more without moving, the ball will get to you eventually. And when it does...shoot a 3.

it's disappointing that we came out looking like this after having 3 days off.

If this team had a good nba coach this team would make the playoffs. McHale needs a greater post player he is treating Terrance Jones like Jeremy Lin... I see they didn't learn from that situation.

Why would this game be a reality check? It was a fairly close game with a team that's expected to finish near the top of the Western Conference.

Win-win situation. We have the youngest team in the NBA.

Going 500 will be a tall task. Get a top 10 pick. What's the protection on our pick anyway?

I want to see Terrance Jones in the rotation. Is Mchale blind?
