Mitt Romney, white vote

If the white vote is at or less than 72% of the entire electorate and Obama gets 40% of the white vote, he's in.

Whatever happens, this is the last race the Repubs can run by appealing solely to white voters. Instead of having to get 61% of white voters like today, the percentage will continue to increase. If they were smart, they would have bitten the bullet and focused on Hispanic voters this cycle, but they didn't and now more Hispanics are likely to vote for Democrats than ever before. Even if Romney should win, the odds against them winning a similar campaign in the future increase every day. At some point, probably in the next 2-3 cycles, demographics will cause a reckoning in the Republican Party.

As the US becomes a minority majority nation, expect Whites to openly practice the same tribal politics that Jews, Asians, Latinos, and Blacks already engage in. Democrats just need to accept this and formulate a message that isn't tinged with anti White resentment, something that is all too common in progressive political discourse.

 

Being inclusive, multi-cultural, and diverse isn't anti-white or anti-Christian.
