Good article about not using any of our draft picks and real rookies sort of speak. He wants our bigs to be able to spread the floor and hit threes apparently. I was actually of the impression eventually we were going to go do Patrick / Omer / Jones / D-Mo and have an inside-out system though that is probably long ways to go. I hope we're not going to let Jones & D-Mo become outside players.

That's genious! Take the "power" out of the PF position! Don Nelson approves.

Considering that our guards and SF are such good rebounders we can indeed afford to go small at the 4.

As would Rudy T, who went with Horry, Elie, Drexler, And Smith in the NBAfinals. The key to such a line up is a defensive stud in the middle. Thankfully we have one

The whole "why rookies no play" thing is very silly. I mean, why are the youth-loving Rockets pedophiles complaining about the 14th pick of the 2011 draft, Morris, getting time over, say, the 20th pick of the 2011 draft, Motiejunas?

The fact is, the Rockets have 8 guys playing either the C or PF position, all of whom were entered the league in 2010 (Asik, Aldrich, Patterson), 2011 (Morris, Smith) or 2012 (Motiejunas, White, and Jones). The coaching staff is going to have 3 or 4 of them in the rotation, and leaving the other 4 or 5 out of it.

Difference is that team had arguably the best post player in the history of basketball but don't forget the first championship was won with OT at PF.

People want to believe that one of the rookies is a star waiting to be discovered, so they question why these potential future stars can't get off the bench on a likely border line lottery team. It's not a fair complaint only 3 games in, but I get why fans want to see what the rookies can do. It's the hope for star potential that the Rocket's own comments encouraged, and the premature fan decision that the players in front of these rookies don't have that same potential.

Marcus Morris going from some fans saying he should never play again in game one, to being our 3rd leading scorer by game 3 is a good enough example for me to say the current rotation deserves some time to prove themselves though.

This is what happens when you draft "Best player available" without thought of the position you are drafting them at and your team's needs. BPA is great for sports where you can stash or waste roster spots but in basketball, we are ultimately going to have to lose talented players because they are wasting away on our bench and not getting the playing time they need or they get it too late at the end of their contracts.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion from the articles. McHale talk mainly about rebounding. The reporters just mentioned the players having a 3 point competition.

Still should have at least played Terrence Jones. He had momentum coming out of preseason. That momentum has been halted for almost two weeks now.
