I noticed that as well and it made me wonder why Lori couldn't have just waited a little bit longer and made it back to the group just like Carl and Maggie did.

She was hemorrhaging. If she waited any longer then both would die.

Stayed home sick today and made it through 33 of the comics. Relatively close to where season 3 is right now depending on where they decide to go with the series. All I can say is things certainly escalated quickly with Michionne...dudayum

I was HUGE critic of the first two seasons of this show and despite my love for zombie novels and movies was ready to give up on watching anymore of it. After finally watching all the episodes of season 3 and I have to say, its a hell of a lot better than the first two. Its a vast improvement IMHO! The show finally emulated what made the comic entertaining, which is an emphasis on the horror, grittiness and violence rather than the melodramas of the previous seasons. So far I'm Loving the action and the abundance of zombies and the minimizing of dialogue between characters.

The show needs to keep this formula, unless by some miracle they can make viewers care about any of the characters (asides from the daryl).

Shame that Tdog had to die to save Carol of all peeps.

Shame that they didn't atleast build his character up a little more gradually and given him some real substance so the emotional impact of his death would've been greater

    RIP TDog.

The only time he was given lines in the first two seasons were when he wanted to leave someone behind or leave the group behind. It is a shame it's not Carol, and it probably won't be before she hooks up with Daryl. That's her only inevitable reason for being in the show still right?

I'd personally start from the beginning, comic doesn't mirror the show exactly. Different characters and situations, some much better than what's been on TV.

Yeah, I'll be honest. TDog's valiant death was wasted. They gave him one of the best deaths on the show, going out like a total hero, but it didn't register much because he was the least important character on the show.

If they had dedicated a little more time to him throughout the series his death might have been really dramatic. It also doesn't help that Carol is a sucky character so dying for her didn't help much. All of a sudden in that episode TDog found religion and started contributing as a voice of conscience. Then he's dead. LOL

Yea...at the very end he grabbed those zombies but, before that, all I saw was him facing a chain link fence and a zombie snuck up behind him taking a bite out of his shoulder because he wasn't looking behind him. Maybe I need to rewatch that scene. Not sure what he was doing (glory hole?)? lol

He was trying to close the fence that had been opened so that more zombies couldn't get in. Then after being bitten and knowing he was going to die, he was trying to lead Carol to safety before he bit the bullet. He grabbed those zombies so Carol could get through the hallway and out the door.

Anyway, it would have mattered more if this moral sense and the God talk had happened before in the show. All of a sudden he's talking about God getting him through things and that God will keep him alive long enough to get Carol to safety? Prior to this he was never so thoughtful. He expressed morality and compassion for others when they debated about the prisoners.

When did he become the moral compass?

That caught me for a loop, the God Talk, I had to try and remember if that'd always been a part of his character or I just glazed over it.

You didn't miss it. It was a new development.

They really missed a big opportunity with TDog. From the beginning they could have made him a really good character. He was the one to blame for Merle getting left on the roof. From that point forward they could have been building his character development and moral compass.

I also would have had it be Beth or Maggie that he saved, not Carol. Carol is not a sympathetic character.

Yeah I didn't think so, just made me do a double take. I agree with you that there was so much they could have done with from the start.

agreed. the differences start pretty early on and become relatively important. was cool to see some of the imagery the show picked up, as well.

I started reading them yesterday and I must say the comics are actually pretty good.
