In the same way, compared to most of the population in general, Toney Douglas is a pretty good PG.

I wasn't the only one who harped on Rasmussen's obvious lean to the right.

Same goes for Gallup poll---many of us knew the numbers looked way off. But I was the voice in the wilderness complaining that Gallup's boss is an evangelical Christian.....as is my sister, who wrote on her Facebook page about Obama being Satan (I love my sister, but, my goodness). So....not surprised.

I think Obama had a late surge after Sandy - really looks like he won in the last week.

Chris Matthews said last night something like "thank god for that storm last week."

It's ridiculous, but the exit polls showed that Sandy was the difference for a lot of people.

I don't remember the number but I was surprised when they said the % of people for whom Obama's response to Sandy was their primary reason for voting for him.

I don't think Obama needed Sandy. He had already turned around the momentum Romney got from the first debate and was winning the important states in most polls. But it looks like it did help him some.

This will be a common refrain, especially for the GOP to find a reason without taking blame. And it may have made a mild difference - but the trends were clear well before:

I'm not making excuses and I'm not saying it is the reason Obama won. I do think it sealed the deal though.

The exit polling that showed something like 15% of voters said Hurricane Sandy was THE most important factor in who they voted for is simply stunning.

Oh I agree - lots of GOP people (not constituents, but party leaders) have started the blame game and are mentioning Sandy as a reason or the reason Romney lost. And I agree that the exit polling on that is bizarre - it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I think it makes sense. There was a person on Fox News (I know I know) who said that the number reflects that there is a still a portion of our electorate who is incredibly shallow. They are simply unplugged from the process but still show up to vote. (I know one of these people actually very well) For them, Hurricane Sandy was the last image they had. Obama looking cool in his jacket and Chris Christie saying how awesome he was. Boom. Vote Obama.
