As a new young American, I can't help but think single issue voting and the two-party system is the bane of the American political system and is tearing the country apart. I feel for gay rights, women's rights, and have a lot of "liberal" views in many social issues. I also believe in small government and find Obama's foreign and economic policies dangerous and atrocious. These are unrelated issues that are unfortunately neatly divided into two columns for all intents and purposes under the two-party system. Where is my voice? Don't tell me Libertarian or any other third parties because an ideology without a real competent electoral presence is pointless. I know this has always been an unsolvable problem and I'm late to it, but it's hitting me hard right now as I join the American democratic process for the first time since I became an American citizen.
If the vote totals hold in the few remaining uncalled states then Nate Silver will have nailed it perfectly, including the last minute flip of Florida from pink to baby blue.
you better believe that if romney won, bigtexx, trader, commodore etc. would be all over this thread right now.
Seriously, this is huge for the cannabis movement. It will eventually lead to a state vs federal showdown in which the state will win, since the federal govt still does not and never did have the right to prevent people from using drugs.
Well said. You sound like some Republicans I know in real life, people that are friends of mine. The Republican Party wasn't always controlled by an extremist minority. Get involved. Take back your party! Please accept a pat on the back from your friendly Blade Runner!
