I suspect Obama will do better if he would quit antagonizing and blaming the Republicans for not getting what HE wants done.

He would also do better if Republicans would stop changing what they wanted to get done once Obama decides to support it like they've done over and over again.

Republicans are dug in too deep - they will continue to push a very radical position of no new taxes as they are controlled by greater powers.

I expect the tax cuts will expire on Jan 1st but the draconian cuts will not happen and we will find a way - Republicans and Democrats - to kick the can down the road.

But at least the Bush tax cuts will expire. I think Obama should take a firm position in the middle, and be pushed to the right just to get something done. He needs to stay firm in the middle and not capitulate to either liberals or conservatives. That's the only way you can eventually get anything done with a Republican House and Democratic Senate.

He passed a Republican Health Care plan - when he wanted a single payer system.

I suspect Obama will do better if he realizes that dealing with the Republicans is useless until they grow up and willing to make some compromise on their overly rigid positions.

I heard on television tonight that 2/3's of those sampled in an exit poll stated they do NOT want taxes raised as part of a plan to lower the deficit. Even if this is overstated, you can't seriously expect republican congressmen to vote against what their constituents want. Its not gonna happen.

They don't want "their" taxes raised. I'm sure that's different from "any" taxes. If the US add a tariff tomorrow on import luxury cars, I doubt 2/3 of Americans would cry bloody murder.

If Obama in his 2nd term says to raise taxes on capital gains by significant margin, raise taxes on top 2% by significant margin, raise taxes by a little on maybe top 5-10%, I can't imagine majority of the country would be in line to destroy him on that.

Majority of Americans want to raise taxes on the Rich. There is no doubt about that.

You are a joke. I understand being bitter, but if you're so upset, blame your party's invisible, manipulative platform. You elected a weak candidate that devalued women, minorities, the middle class, those with chronic illnesses and the essence of truth.

Fox News is still looking for your opinion. Do you need the link?
