So instead of thinking: "Geez, there sure are a lot of fans loving and following this guy Lin. Maybe he's someone special."

LOHs think: "How dare this guy Lin brings in all these new fans? They're nuiances. We don't want new fans! This forum is our exclusive club!"

Love me, love my dog! So we LOFs are already TOFs.
Although there are so many Lin-haters , but we don't care about what they talk.
We just enjoy Lin's every game whatever it's a bad game.

The H stands for Haters. Haters gon' hate.

Lin is special. He got me obsessed with basketball again after years of being disenchanted with the NBA. People that reduce him to his race or his draft status or his media hype infuriate me. I follow him because of what I've seen him do and what I think he's capable of doing in the future. I'm definitely not going to miss out on seeing his story unfold.

I just wish there were a better fan community online. Clutchfans would be nice if it weren't for all the trolls and derailed threads. Guess I was kind of spoiled with P&T.

there ar so many Yao fans that become rockets fans after a few years. Hoopchina's rockets board have way more posts/threads than clutchfans per day.

Popular players attract new fans, simple as that. You don't single out a specific type of fans and assume that they won't become genuine team fans --- because its narrow minded.

Logic doesn't work on haters, who are by definition narrow-minded.

Nobody becomes a fan in an instant, love or hate it all takes time. Lets give our new fans some more time and see what happens in the future. Sure some lofs are annoying, just as much as loh. But i believe many of them will become rockets fans in a few years time --- I registered my account first back in 2007 because of Yao, I'm still a fan after Yao's retirement.

    I'm a rocket fan and I'll say Lowry>Lin>Gogi.

Though I think Lowry is the better player I'm not sure he's the better fit for this team then Lin. In regards to team ball Lin looks to be better at finding teammates esp when the play adapts. And while Lowry is also great at penetrating the lane he's usually looking for his own shot where Lin could still find a player for a better shot while driving. Thus Lin is the better play maker.

As a player Lowry hands down is better than Lin. For those that say Lin is clutch I would say that Lowry is just as much if not more. Lowry has made some unbelievable last second threes. Lowry's better at shooting on the move or pulling up and thus is the better scorer. I do think Lin might be better at spotting up or coming off a screen for a shot he seems to need to get in a position to score where it's much more natural for Lowry. Lowry also is a good defender and doesn't get enough credit for this.

Both Lowry and Lin have something in common which is their motor. They both bring it all game while I would say that Gogi isn't always as active or determined.

Now if we were talking all three of them at 23-24 years of age I say Lin>Lowry>Gogi.

You are not alone and no need to miss it. I love P&T too so I visit there a lot. Knocks have been playing really well, 3-0. They play a different kind of bbl from the Rockets. Love both teams. If only Lakers (yep, that's my other team) can start playing their game, I will be in basketball heaven. May they all become better and win lots of games this year.

Oh, so my posting style doesn't stack up in your estimation?

That's big big talk from somebody with 2012 join date whose posting history indicates he joined the site not for the Rockets but for the flavor of the week.

My advice: mix up your posts. Come to the hangout. Learn about big ass gorditias. Call me maybe?

Last bit of advice then I'm done with you. Don't try to pass off a cliché as erudition.

Acutally I did think about it before, and here is my answer:

Knicks is the first NBA team I ever supported because of Lin. Before that, I never watched NBA and had no team to call as my home team.

The moment Rockets signed Lin, Rockets became my home team by default. If I grow emotional attachment to Rox, which I think is highly possible given the 3-year contract between Rox and Lin, I will become a Rox fan by virtue.

So, if Lin is traded after I become emotionally bounded, no I won't leave for another team, though I will definitely follow Lin.

Good point. For Knicks fans, Linsanity was so special, considering how lost the season seemed and how cynical the fanbase had become.

The thing is, "LOFs" aren't mostly obsessed Asians. I think they're mostly Knicks fans.

To LOF, I am quite certain that CF do not welcome you. Find another board to say whatever about Lin. I am sure you will have a better and more rational discussion. This will benefit each other as CF will become more quiet and peace.
