I know we've talked about this movie in book threads....but I didn't find a thread for the movie, itself. http://blog.chron.com/celebritybuzz/2012/11/brad-pitt-vs-zombies/ First preview will premier on Entertainment Tonight this Thursday evening. Set to release June 21, 2013, according to IMDB. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0816711/
It revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who travels the world in a race against time to stop a Zombie pandemic from spreading and ultimately destroying the world as we know it. World War Z has been dogged with issues with several writers brought on board for script rewrites, so Matthew Michael Carnahan (Lion for Lambs) and Damon Lindelof (Lost) both share writing credits.
Classic! The wife loves her some Brad Pitt...but zombie movies aren't her deal. We can take Jacoby, though, on the 22nd!
It's not going to follow the structure of the book but that's probably okay. The book has plenty of flash back and details that they could incorporate into a new story. Let's hope it doesn't suck since I like the book a lot.
The script was leaked a while ago. http://api.ning.com/files/UKi9OtXhA...pV*EB/WORLD_WAR_Z__J_Michael_Straczynski1.pdf

Bah. 'Only one man can save the world?' I hate that concept already. The book was clear about the world failing and succeeding as a whole. Everyone did their part to make it worse and better.
It looks like it may...may...be good. But considering how different it is from the source why call it World War Z? Would love to see the book done right as a miniseries someday...so many great stories there.
