He will like Houston soon enough. Nobody likes to be traded unless they are going to a much better team. (Kmart to OKC)

Thank God we already got him. He would have agreed to contract with Thunder. But he will like Houston a lot here and he will be happy he's here.

We have to surround him with better players or he will be very frustrated here. I mean apart from Lin and Asik, there is not much on the team. Morey has to make the proper trades now that he has been given this golden opportunity.

Its human nature. Its like a mutual break up, but you end up thinking what if things happened differently. There are human feelings there...doubt, remorse, pain even though your mind tells you the seperation is proper course of action. In the end though, Harden did recognize that this oppotunitiy allows him to showcase his talent more.

It's only natural for Harden to have some feelings left over about how things went down in OKC. He is a team-first guy and his relationships there were strong.

All that aside, you have to be impressed with his readiness to embrace his new role, as well as the fans of Houston, and to see this move as being the next phase of his life. The contrast between having Harden and having a pouting, petulant Dwight Howard is pretty stark.

Damn... even Morey treats his assets better than that. I think Morey would've given him at least two hours. :p

Thats the thing. Morey has already proven that he can find great complementary players. The thing that he couldn't do, up to the Harden trade, was land the big fish. Now that we have a legitimate first option, he can start building around that. Next on the list should be getting another all-star to pair up with Harden. As per our roster, the postion to fill in the starting line up would be a legitimate low post scorerer who can run the pick and roll with Harden/Lin. We have a defensive SF who can hold his own on the offensive end, and we have a defensive center that is not too much of a liability on offense. We have a play making/attacking PG as well as SG. The future is looking bright.

I don't see what's so critical about having the deal done by Saturday night. The extension deadline is the end of Wednesday and the Rockets were willing to offer the maximum amount of money allowed under the CBA. Surely a deal done by, say, Monday morning still leaves plenty of time to get an extension done. Also, Harden is gonna be restricted anyway even without an extension, so I very much doubt that the deal on the table on Saturday night would have been taken off the table by Monday morning.

The one hour deadline is just very strange.

Presti wanted to send a message to the rest of his young team. My way or the highway.

He has 80 million new reasons to believe that Houston will be a better place...

Presti's job could be on the line...imo...but we still have an entire season to play...

I do not understand this point? He was with the OKC for 3 years?? He had a good role and the fans love him, was he not supposed to be passionate about that?.

At this point, I have been watching more Raptors and Thunder games then Rockets games sadly. Blame Les.

He's understandably disappointing in the way OKC handled it, but he understands why he needed to leave also.

Great strategy by Morey!!! Putting pressure on Presti to get it done!! If Harden really is the future then Morey absolutely stole him.

Didn't all the players have to pass their physicals and stuff?

Carl, have you ever been in a situation where... you have an item where you are very interested in buying and the salesman says, I have another person who was interested in it too and is strongly considering buying it real soon. It is a very good sales tactic and triggers an immediate anxiety response on the buyer. Now it is up to you if you want to believe the salesman or call his/her bluff.

Presti's reaction seems typical of somebody who was pressured into going with the deal. Morey might have had other suitors for the package we were sending out. This is the only rational explanation I can think of that explains this behavior.
