Wow! The episode was INSANE!! I admit that I shed some tears at Lori's death scene and Rick losing it at the end. Can the show get any better?!
Wait...Rick doesn't know Carl shot Mom in the head yet...does he? Now Rick is going to hate on Carl for a while until Carl is killed and Rick lets loose about how upset he now is that Carl is gone after giving him the cold shoulder for a long time. lol
hey- was the guy in the control room part of the original prisoner group? was he the one that we assumed was left to be ripped apart by walkers after he was locked outside and had a nice yell in episode two or so??
Yes, Rick's actions (or lack of action) to take care of that prisoner (versus assume the zombies got him) actually indirectly led to the events that cause Lori and T-Dawg to meet their demise. Rick should now shoot himself in the head. New leader...Carl.
So what was the reasoning for Lori having to be shot? I dont think it was ever answered. I thought she just passed out from shock/pain?
She passed on after being cut open. So Carl shot her so she won't turn into a zombie. On talking dead they say that she looked at her pregnancy like it was a death sentence.
any chance carl fake shot her because he couldn't do it...like she will make another appearance as a zombie?
I think he does. If you look back at Rick's reaction and how he cries out "oh nooo" when he sees Carl walking slowly with his head down and while carrying a gun, he knows.
The one that gets me about the whole thing was how easily Carl and Maggie made it out there while holding a crying baby. I know they show her opening the door and the zombies walking away, still a gunshot/crying baby usually is enough noise to attract some attention.
They had no medicine or antiseptic and they took a knife that there is no chance had been sterilized (who knows what it was done) and ripped her open. A non medical professional then just started groping around inside her body, pushing organs aside trying to get the uterus. She finds it and pulls the baby out. Lori is bleeding uncontrollably with a slashed open midsection. There was no chance she was surviving. If she wasn't already dead by the time Carl shot her she was going to be dead shortly. If by some miracle she hadn't bled to death by the time they carried her to safety where Hershel could help, she would be severely infected and die from that.
I think the incision death scene was inspired by this French horror Classic... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sEJVXgktgks" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
