I never put him as elite. Just slightly above average.
But he was on bad teams, too.

I did not get to see him play. His numbers are nothing great but a number of coaches at the time felt he was a franchise quarterback stuck behind a terrible line that resulted in a complete beating.

So who knows, terrible line play makes it very hard to judge.

From memory, he was average to awful. Much of the problem could have been playing for the Saints.

Brother Manning was alright. I mean he played for the Aints which could have been a factor hampering his productivity

I saw him play, and it is hard to judge because the Saints were so horrible. I'm trying to think of a really good QB that was on a bad team their entire career, and I'm having a hard time coming up with one.

He is the best QB because he produced Peyton and Eli. No other QB can claim they have better off springs!

He doesn't want it and I don't think he has the dedication to football needed to be an NFL assistant. Archie Manning is a great father and family man who wasn't cut out for working 15 hour days after he left the NFL.

Peyton is the guy who will remain in the NFL after his playing career is over. Wouldn't be surprised if he ultimately ended up owning a team.

You really don't have a clue do you?

You think Rivers and Cutler have played on bad teams? The Saints set all kind of records for being horrible.

I might add to this that three QBs for the equally horrendous Tampa Bay Bucs won Super Bowls after leaving Tampa.

    Doug Williams
    Steve Young
    Trent Dilfer
