+1. I love all of your posts dude. You also post of prosportsdaily as well don't you? Anyways, keep on posting here as well. I always learn something new from you.
15 pts, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 stls, 92% FT per game is close to all star production. Right now, Lin is very rusty and not in game shape. His numbers will go up from here on out.
Yup, its like every single mistake Lin makes is magnified while everyone else gets a pass. Its almost like some people want to see Lin fail like Stephen A Smith and some of the bitter Knicks fans.
On the contrary, I think the reason why Lin faces so much criticism and scrutiny is because the media, his obnoxious newbie fans that are on this board (and will probably be gone when he gets traded or leaves via free agency) are making a big deal out of him. When you're in the spotlight like he is, it is only natural for people to criticize him. I'm fairly new at ClutchFans but I've been watching the Rockets since Yao was drafted and yeah, you had a few jackasses here and there on ClutchFans but this influx of people...correction parasites that only care about Lin's stats are pathetic and a nuisance. I used to enjoy reading sarcastic posts from Carl Herrera and others that have been here for a while but now we have to sift through a thread to read a good post by true Rockets fans. The truth is, some of these new posters don't care about the Rockets and never will. They only care about Lin's stats as I stated before. Don't get me wrong, I wish Lin could become a superstar point guard with the athleticism of Russell Westbrook and the skills of John Stockton, but we all know that is a pipe dream. I wish the best for the Rockets and I hope Lin pans out, but remember, men of Houston, it's about the team overall, not one player. Thank you (bows to audience)
Dragic was a backup last season and had a stretch where he averaged 23 ppg. So obviously you no nothing about the Rockets and just read stats.
What Lowry/Dragic fans? If there are any you Lin fans drown them out. Point is, I'm sick of you and want the old ClutchFans back where there were ROCKETS FANS. Lowry was an awesome player for this team by the way, nobody out hustled him on the court on any given night. Lin has yet to prove himself on the Rockets, that's why people are annoyed with you Lin only fans. We'll be able to tell in a couple of months if he's got what you says he has.
Fair post. I think all of the fans that are called LOF or whatever mostly just want Lin to get a fair shake. Let's honestly judge him based on performance and effort. I consider myself incredibly lucky because I'm a huge Lin fan and also a Rockets fan for over 30 years.
I have to admit I think it is highly immature to be upset about the new fans a player brings. Don't get me wrong I completely sympathize about some of the questionable threads that have been made recently it is a little bit ridiculous to be honest. But as a"true" Rocket fan which you proclaim yourself would you not want the extra publicity that Lin brings? As a raptor fan if Lin was playing on the Raptors you know that people would be talking about the team a lot more particularly with Jonas. Lowry is playing like a top 5 PG right now but NOBODY is talking about it. That is because the raptors are not relevant and hate it or love it Lin brings relevancy. Personally I am a fan of the NBA I follow multiples teams for multiple reasons, coaches (Pop), GM's (Morey), Players (Suns with Nash). When one of Lin's fans (I believe it was) sent @Izazzdavid sent his daughter a jersey from Asia because they heard the story of her undergoing chemotherapy that really made me happy. I like to think that a kind gesture like that to a complete stranger over the internet more than makes up for the really dumb threads that are being made by overly eager "Lin's fans".
Dragic didn't break Shaquille O' Neal's scoring record for their first five starts. Jeremy Lin did. Dragic didn't record 20 pts, 7 assists, and a steal in 6 consecutive games. Lin did. One of only 15 players in the HISTORY of the NBA. Lin was the first (and ONLY) NBA player to score at least 20 points and have seven assists in each of his first five starts. Last season, Lin scored 89, 109, and 136 points in his first three, four, and five career starts, respectively, all three of which are the most by any player since 1976–77. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Lin Lin has already re-written the record books and he's only 24. Dragic is a good player, but he hasn't done what Jeremy Lin has done. Case closed. The facts are indisputable. Get mad all you want.
Just generally speaking, I would like to reduce (or preferably eliminate) the bile in some of the Lowry, Dragic, Lin comparisons. I think there are those that are just stirring the pot. Plenty of franchises have had a succession of good players at one position. I think it is pretty clear that Lowry, Dragic, and Lin were never all available at the same time, and no one was picked over someone else. As Rockets fans, clutchfans should just be happy that we have had a string of good young point guards. If the Rockets had any of these three during the McGrady/Yao early years or during the early Akeem years (pre-Hakeem), there might be an extra banner or two in Houston. Let's just sit back and enjoy all three as their careers progress. Think about you working at your job and getting hired after the last guy left. I don't think it makes sense for coworkers to go for months comparing your performance with the guy who left and have vicious attacks based on that. I'm ok with helpful or positive feedback or thoughtful comparisons, but overly negative ripping gets to me when we are all supposed to be fans of the same team who come to this board to have a good time.
No fan base has ever regurgitated the same old shet about 5 games of a player more than Lin fans. But But BUt the first 5 starts, records and shet, shaq and Jordan, Dragic is worse case closed, you mad, 5 starts, 38 points against lakers, game winner vs Toronto, you mad bro, made Novak better than Ray Allen, faster than Usain Bolt, MVP MVP MVP

Lin's has what it takes to be one of the key leaders on this team. Go Rockets! Brought to you by the best pair! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2WD3QrhqyY0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
^ Totally agree. It is actually really funny since following the Knicks after i started dating my BF they have had so many PG's none of which have really stood out aside from Lin & Chauncey. The had Douglas, Mikee Bibby, Baron Davis, Raymond Felton, Pablo Prigioni, Jason Kidd. None of those 5 guys are anywhere close to talent as Lowry Dragic or Lin. Odd that fans are responding which such bile against all three players when any of those three guys would have made the Knicks a better team as they currently stand.
