I am not trying to make Lin bigger than he is. The problem is people claim that they will treat him like any other player, but he has to prove himself. After he does, what then. I do get it that we have our favorite players, that's fine, but we need to keep it in perspective. I am a Rockets fan first and I will root for every player on this team. I will root for them when they don't play well, but I am not going to come on here and pick and choose what players game that I feel needs to be picked a part. BTW , we can come on here and give our 2 cent about a game everyday all day long, and the end of the day it is only our opinions. peace out.

Look enough with the revisionist history...

BOTTOM LINE the ROX did not call Lin on the first day of Free Agency

Morey himself said he went after Lin after they lost their two point guards...

and most important they offered Lin a 3 year contract...

while offering Harden a 5 year contract

before Harden all the "new" contracts they were signing looked to be expiring or tradable.. on their 3rd years...

until you guys can prove that the Rox got rid of Lowery and Dragic to eventually go after Lin

    then

    SHUT UP ALREADY

Morey also spoke to Sports Illustrated last night, and explained why he upped his offer to Lin right before the end of the free agency moratorium:

"We no longer had Lowry or Dragic, and at that point we thought it made sense to offer him more money and increase our chances of getting him."

Morey added that he didn't think he had "any chance" to sign Lin:

"I still actually thought it was more likely they would match even after that (New York Times) story. I just couldn't conceive that they would give us the shot to have him."

So, to sum it up, Morey gave Lin $25 million because he has tons of potential, and he had make the contract big enough to scare off the Knicks.

Awarde, first off you're trying to make this personal and that's why I keep re-posting bigez statement....

I'm glad that you're a rockets fan, happy you made it here. So again from the words of the man bigez... since he stated it so well.... This is with all players...

Lowry's a beast, I miss him. I like Lin though, and we wouldn't have Harden without giving up Lowry, so it's all good.

Lowry is doing great, Toronto really wanted him. Considering that they're still playing Calderon 10mil a year to play backup PG for Lowry.

But yeah, Lowry became the pick that landed us Harden.

Yeah I live in Toronto so I watch games a lot. And he is insane right now He is playing like a top PG in the NBA. Him Parker & CP3 are just unconscious. I love him and Jonas Valencuinas. I was excited to see Jonas vs D-mo when we play toronto but doesn't seem like that will happen because of McHale.

Crazy that backup gets paid more than the starter. Poor Calderon, he's a good player too, but Lowry making him look like sht.

I like Lin , but the org. didn't choose between the 3, until someone comes up with link fact, then that would be a false fact.

    Lin 2012/13 (3 games)
    15.3 ppg, 7.3 ast, 2.3 stl, 5.7 reb, 91.7% FT, 3.3 TO

If he keeps that up he's worth WAY over $8M/year.

    Here's what $8M/year buys you...

These are the 2011-12 stats for PG's who will make in the $8M range this year. If you average their stats out and use them as a standard, I'd say something like 11.7 points, 4.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.2 steals would be playing within Lin's salary range, JUST from performance.

    Player: Points / Assists / Rebounds / Steals / 3PT%
    Mike Conley: 12.7 / 6.5 / 2.5 / 2.2 / .377
    George Hill: 9.6 / 2.9 / 3.0 / 0.8 / .367
    Devin Harris: 11.3 / 5.0 / 1.8 / 1.0 / .362
    Jameer Nelson: 11.9 / 5.7 / 3.2 / 0.7 / .377
    Mo Williams: 13.2 / 3.1 / 1.9 / 1 / .389

Right now, he's playing closer to a $10M-$11M/year PG. That's WITHOUT putting any thought towards marketing.

    Next question...

Lin isn't totally back yet. He showed a flash on that "and 1" play with a minute left in regulation of the Portland game. Lin's defense did drop off in both the Hawks and Blazers games- I'm sure this will be seen as an aberration. (Lin's defense in the Detroit game was excellent, particularly in the 4th qtr.) He's been a monster late in close games. I do think whenever either Harden or Lin fails to make the game-winning play, there will be a lot of second-guessing in regard to which player should have taken it.

Lin had this sort of criticism during Linsanity. So this really isn't anything new. Haters will pounce on him whenever he doesn't play well, but he almost always bounces back.

I will only start worrying about Lin if his production doesn't return to normal roughly a month from now.

Are you even a fan of Lin? After watching most of his games last year I have higher expectations for him. I don't expect anything like the linsanity stretch, but right now he's not shooting well (finishing, or jumpshots), his defense is inconsistent, and he has a tendency to disappear in games.

I actually think last game was his best of the three, he attacked the rim, got layups, floaters, and and-1. He's getting better every game regardless win or lose.

What makes those Lowry/Dragic fans believe Rockets traded those two for Lin? Are they so depressed and became delusional?
