Everybody in America is better off than they were four years ago. So is everybody in Iraq.

Glad to know that. I have lived through a few storms in my lifetime too.

No I make less due to my options/stock and bonuses being less. I also pay more since I moved to an expensive part of town.

Nothing that the government has done has caused my 'better off-ness' to be significantly better off and my 'worse off-ness' to be significantly worse off.

I am somewhat disturbed that after years of a national discussion on health care that people actually still think this way. Who pays for Medicaid and do you actually think that there is no cost for hospitals to provide emergency services without charging?

First regarding Medicaid is that not everyone can go on it as it's means tested. It doesn't address those who otherwise could pay for health insurance but choose not too. Anyway if you think Medicaid is the solution would you then support greater funding and expansion of Medicaid?

Second about hospitals this is even more troubling. Yes hospitals have to provide emergency medical services regardless of whether patients can pay that doesn't mean no one is paid. Those cost are passed on to other patients, charities and the government. It is one of the big reasons why health care costs have been rapidly increasing. Next you are basically advocating that those who can't afford insurance, or choose not to have it, to take advantage of the legal and ethical obligation of the medical profession. How is that responsible?
Sure we all would like to see the economy grow to the point where everyone can have insurance. That said that is a simplistic and impractical solution to a complex problem. Anyway that doesn't address those who just choose not to buy insurance even though they can afford it. As far as where it says "tax" in the bill it says that the penalty will be assessed by the IRS through the tax system.

I'm better off than I was 4 years ago. Do I attribute it to any single person in government? Not really.

"Your" Supreme Court ruled it Constitutional. There is nothing in Obamacare that would increase your premiums. Your employer either is using Obamacare as an excuse to increase premiums or there is more to the story. In fact since the passage of Obamacare the rate of premium increases has been the lowest in 35 years.

No. I saw an article today saying the new president would inherit war, high unemployment and a bad economy. What year is this?

I was going to express sympathy for your healthcare bills going up so much, while adding that you are off-base if you are blaming Obamacare for that. After this comment, though, never mind. The only dogs around here are you and your ilk.

One war not two and the trend lines for unemployment and the economy are going the other way than they did in 2008.

Woof! Woof! (Although I don't like the term "libtard" when "liberal" is just as true and not as offensive.)
