If you're gonna blame Douglas for meltdowns, you may as well blame everybody not Harden/Lin and whoever was hot between Morris/Delfino. He takes care of the ball well enough for a sub who'll get spot minutes. The whole bench has to play well.
Signed extension. I haven't heard anything about buyout clauses. With the Rockets having cap room right now, they could have paid a big buyout after trade deadline if they didn't use it. I don't think it would have affected cap too much after this season. I think he won't come ever.
Machado's stats @ PRESEASON: +/- -23 no steals no blocks was shooting 3rd worst ahead of White and Lin.
I wouldn't mind giving Machado a go as long as he doesn't shoot. Just make sure that Harden and Delfino are also on the court whenever he's in. The prolbem with Douglas is that he's not a true PG, he's more of a SG and even at that his clutch rating is very poor he is not known to hit the big shot in fact the opposite. Two guys that the Knicks forum members are really glad to see gone are Tony Douglas and Landry Fields, it's not by coincidence that both are stinking up the joint in their new cities. Is there any way that we can get Livingston back?
Douglas looks like a chicken with his head cut off out there. The guy is just all over the place with no direction.
He should be playing at the 2. White is our only other solution as a point forward, despite his weaknesses and lack of experience.
He was playing the 2 at least during the times I saw him on the court, the problem is that we needed him to play point and usually wind up bringing in Harden or Lin which doesn't give either of them a lot of rest. But it is too early to gauge especially given that the fact that some of our backups might be just getting used to one another.
There's a free agent PG that I'm hoping we can sign once we make a 2 for 1 trade to create a space for him. Shaun Livingston
The only way to get rid of TD is to let him play and stink it up. You guys really think Livingston is the answer? Just another bandaid.
Toney Douglas was horrible for the Knicks. He is not a PG. He is an SG in a PG's body. He cannot run an offense and can only shoot 3s. If his shot is not falling he plays horrendously. He used to be a decent 3 point shooter but now he sucks. Useless. Also he is a terrible defender, he makes Lin look like a stud defensively and Lin is a decent defender no more.
Another option is leaving Harden in the game for a few minutes to run the point while Lin sits, and then having Harden sit for a while when Lin comes back, stagger their minutes so as to limit the amount of time that a back-up PG from the bench is in there.
