that's because,IMO sadly that their pr treat their fans like fools.good campaign,it works, even some intelligent fans take it.or probably they are loyal than idiots tho.
If you haven't even seen Lowry/Dragic play, how do you even have the gall to claim that Lin is better? I mean wtf? How presumptuous can you get? For the record I think the difference between Dragic and Lin is splitting hairs. Lowry is better than both. And Dragic being older than Lin is a selective argument that the Lin fans like to cite. Yet Lin fans also like to bring up Nash to say that Lin can improve, but somehow that same argument doesn't apply to Dragic? Remember, Nash didn't explode and win MVP until he was 30. You guys are so biased it's comical.
I actually find this thread very interesting and not annoying. I guess because it's fairly serious discussion, and not trolling comments about eating stinky friggin' tofu.
I keep hearing this knee surgery excuse. It was supposed to be minor surgery. At first, he was even optimistic he'd be back in time for the playoffs. Curry, with his chronic ankle problems, went 6/10 from 3 last night. People should just accept the fact that Lin is not a good shooter, and probably won't ever be with that form of his. All this offseason talk from his shooting coach that his shot is better than ever was just that, talk. If he really wants to improve his shot, he needs to get rid of that Mickey Mouse shooting coach of his and get a real coach, maybe someone who'll tear down his mechanics and rebuild them from scratch, and even that route has low probability of success. Barring that, his jumpshot is what it is.
It's the recovery from surgery, not that the knee isn't healthy or healed. Players often lose a step for a while, before regaining their form. Chris Paul had similar surgery and wasn't himself for half a season. Maybe his jumpshooting just isn't very good and Linsanity was a fluke (in regards to his jumpers), but he definitely isn't finishing at the rim like he used to. I think he will regain that after a while.
If we are still--STILL--seeing Jeremy Lin at less than 100% of his physical ability right now, then even hypothetical comparisons to the players whose shoes he must fill, must all be put on hold.
so, Lin is not a good shooter...he has like 50 NBA games in total, why don't you give him another 50, if not a first complete season, to see what he will turn out to be?
I feel the same way. As a lin fan, you will note that I already called out linsanity 2.0 for this yet he keeps doing this. Just dont lump him with the rest of lin fans like me. I agree with u, Lowry is better but is about even between Lin n dragic right now. I already pointed out to linsanity 2.0 that his actions are giving Lin and LOF a really bad name. If he keeps this up, I may suspect that he's prolly a troll that's stiring up crap and giving Lin a bad name. Still, having harden at his backcourt partner was the best case scenario that happened for him. Good for him.
For those of you who weren't around then, Rafer Alston and Aaron Brooks got this much scrutiny from Rockets fans when they were here. Alston was crucified on a daily basis; even during offseason, it was open season on RA. Lin is getting a much wider amount of scrutiny from more than just Houston fans, but he's proving people wrong as well, if they could admit it.
Lin could work on his jumpshot. I'm not worried about the form but if he could make it work so that opponents have to respect it, I be happy. He did go 2/3 for 3 pt land yesterday so that was a step in the right direction.
I think Stevie had a lot of support, though, from Rockets fans, and from the beginning of his career as a Rocket.
Lin's under more scrutiny for one giant reason: We let go two better point guards to give him as much money as any of them. You can say he makes his salary through ticket sales, but I honestly don't care if we grab some bandwagoners because of Linsanity. I, along with many other fans, want a PG who plays like 25mil if we pay him that much. And it's pretty much impossible to see him doing that, when he's not even in the top 15 PGs in the game. Paul, Rondo, Rose*, Westbrook, Deron, Parker, Nash, Kyrie, Lowry, Lawson, Curry, Wall, Holiday, Conley, Dragic, Rubio, Collison, Jennings and now Lillard being better...and K.Walker, Knight, Chalmers, G.Hill, A.Miller all possibly being better.
I would love to be wrong about his jumper. But how long have people been waiting on Rondo to get a jumper? On the other hand, Parker was able to finally get a jumper, but only after many years. Westbrook's case might give hope. It's impressive how he was able to make himself a respectable jumpshooter in just a couple of years. But Westbrook didn't have the loopy form that Lin has, so I don't know. But like I said, I would love to be wrong about Lin's jumper. Preferably, starting tonight against Portland.
When Lin was signed, I already knew then that this was going to happen in this forum. IMHO, it has nothing to do with Lin that he is asian nor the Linsanity hype but rather Lowry/Dragic. Generally speaking, people don't like change unless they 'know' it is for the better. I can somewhat compare it to your boss requiring you to use a different tool to get your job done. He presents you with this tool and the first thing that comes to your mind is... I love this old tool and works just fine, why do you have to replace it as I am already used to it and very efficient at it. Your boss will try to convince you that once you get used to it, you will find out that this will be better in the long run and money wise, it is a cheaper tool. You begin to use the tool and find out there is a learning curve involved so your immediate reaction is, why did they have to replace this? Wish I had my old tool back. Resentment and frustration will soon follow and all you seem to focus on is this tools inability to help you with your job rather than figure out how you can change your ways to make it work better for you. Bottom line is eventually in TIME, you will either be able to determine that your boss was right or the change was not positive. I am not claiming that Lin is better than Lowry/Dragic or vice versa. The initial reaction you see in this forum could be attributed to human nature's discomfort with change.
