Although most people around here won't agree with me, I've thought that of all the parties involved in this mess, that Les probably wants to get this resolved more than anyone else. Crane isn't in a hurry, it's just business for Comcast, it's just business for the providers, and Les has his hands tied to a certain degree because he only owns 31%. I don't know who is negotiating for CSN Houston, or who gets to make the final decisions, but I think Les is the one most concerned about getting this mess resolved. Yes, there is no doubt in my mind that this will be resolved by the start of baseball season.
What a freaken irritation I can't believe road games are not even broadcast. Are you freaken kidding me. I have been a fan for 20 @#$^@ years and now that there is something to be excited about I can't watch the game because a bunch of greedy pork whistles can't get together for an agreement. Comcast. Frozen day in h3ll before I ever get your garbage service. What a way to steal ones joy for their home team. Thanks you rotten meat socks.
Should have been cursing up a storm and talking to supervisors. $5 a month for the entire season is what they gave me. Not $5 off, but league pass for 5 bucks.
It really does. The most excitement Houston has had in few years an 60 % of Houston can't see it. Maybe all direct tv users should call today and ask for an update. Maybe if we flood the lines we can get it.
I hope Clutch is working behind the scenes to help us. I have tried every avenue I can think of without response. Do the Rockets even realize what has happened? Comcast is not available in most parts of Texas. Do the Rockets really want to shut out most of the State?
gotta keep this thread fresh, why did it get un stickied? I'm about to call comcast this weekend and order though, I can't take this anymore. I went to buffalo wild wings yesterday and spend $25 on dinner and saw the game. I'm grateful they have it but i'm not doing that everytime the rockets play.
I don't have cable at the moment nor do I want to spend money on it since I rarely watch tv, so would I still be able to buy just the Comcast SportsNet channel?
I'm a Uverse customer and received $50/month plus $150 credit...I'm still ticked off about the situation.
This... Why have we not heard any updates about negotiations? Are they even meeting on the weekend or is this something that will pick up next week again?
Amazing how willing these providers are to cut monthly rates in order keep their customers. Must be a very profitable business.
With everyone saying they're getting credits, I need to call and complain to Uverse too! Sucks that I can't watch the games.
Yet according to many, they deserve no criticism or negative feedback for their unwillingness to pick up the channel. Another aspect that makes me highly suspicious of the providers is the lack of a leaked price figure. With the Longhorn Network (ESPN), the providers couldn't leak the 40 cents/subscriber asking price fast enough. They knew they could get positive PR in the dispute by leaking the figure to the public, showing evidence of where it stood in relation to other channel fees. There hasn't been any such release here, leading me to believe the figure isn't all that unreasonable.
