When do we get to see the 7-foot Lithuanian with the growing post moves and sweet 3-pt shot? The Rockets are very backcourt heavy with Lin and Harden taking most of the shots and logging severe minutes. I'd like to see more balance with more production coming out of the front court. Who has the best shot of providing it? TJones? Royce? Marcus? Greg Smith? Patterson? They need to trade from their glut of PFs and get some backups for PG and SG. Free D-Mo and let him run pick and rolls with Lin.
We've been winning so I actually trust McHale on taking time with the rooks. 3 of the guys starting are already new. He's also worked Morris in which, seriously, he needs to be given credit with, considering everyone here already gave up on him. I'm guessing he'll be putting those guys into games one at a time.
There's no need for D-Mo right now, we're winning and Marcus Morris is building trade value. Motiejunas will eventually get his shot, as will the other rookies, for the meantime he need's to stay patient and be ready to be called into action when ever needed.
He is a total douchebag. Does not fit within the Houston Rockets' team culture at all. Send him to the Miami Heat or the Los Angeles Lakers. He'll fit in those places great.
What are you talking about? Agree that DMo should get some time. I think we'd still have 2 W's if DMo had snuck in for 12 minutes at the 4. I'm still not that impressed by Morris and I think I trust McHale a lot less than most of you. We're 2-0 because he has given Lin, Harden, and Asik lots of minutes. Period. It's funny to watch tweets from ESPN during the games: "Cannot figure out McHale's rotations!" Yep. But I am a very happy fan so far, and of course, I never see the practices, etc. Go Rocks!
No need to worry. I believe McHale will play him sooner than expected. DMo fits perfectly with our spread the floor offense. It's totally counter productive to have a postup 4 who will clog up the paint for our backcourt penetrations. We need a 4 who can shoot from perimeter and has the sure hands to receive passes under the basket and score. I am just glad Morey traded Lamb instead of DMo.
Motiejunas and T-Jones will get playing time soon, although I do feel like either Motie or Jones should have got some PT in the first game I still think we shouldn't stress out yet. No the Rockets are doing a back-to-back and we'll probably see Motiejunas or Jones tonight, I don't think they'll log heavy minutes but with the Rockets big men McHale needs to give the youngsters a shot.
They will get time although it will probably be because of injuries. Neither Patterson or Morris are what you can consider to be iron men and they both have weaknesses (Patterson has great perimeter defense but weak offensive skills and Morris great offensive skills and rebounding but not strong enough to compete around the basket defensively).
How you know theyre building his trade value? maybe hes here for the long haul, I wouldnt mind that, why trade someone just to be trading them especially when hes showing signs of really good potential? Im not buying it, sure theres a log jam at the 3 and 4 but they need to weed out the lesser of the these guys and trade that guy, not sure thats Morris
There are strong contingents of Jones Only Fans and McHale Decision Haters that float all over the board.
An interesting comparison: the Lakers and the Rockets and how their coaching staffs integrated a serious influx of talent. To make a long story short the Lakers coaching staff failed, and Rockets staff leveled mountains to integrate Harden into the the team in just 3 days. Just saying.
