well...if Sergio Llull wasnt such a nut job...he may have been on this Rockets team...and would have been a pretty good option off the bench...
Dude, McHale is the one who took Kevin Love instead of OJ Mayo, and got blasted by everyone at the time. He CAN recognize talent. Just maybe not all the time.
Might as well try Machado before we decide to sign anyone else. I mean why keep him on the squad if there is no intention to use him.
So is Mike Bibby, but McHale wants defense. The Rockets could probably get Chris Duhon from the Lakers, since they have a crowded backcourt but there's not that many options left unless Allen Iverson is willing to come off the bench! He could probably teach Lin some better crossovers.
Actually I was hoping the Rockets keep Livingston, and the money wasn't a issue with me since his contract would have looked good in a trade package as well.
Dang wish they could of signed aaron brooks to a small 2 year contract this past summer....he would have been perfect off the bench
Most plausible solution: Start Machado. How much worse can he be? Or we can drop( / dump) TD and then try to re-sign Livingston.
Fun fact: there haven't been any benches in the NBA in years. Players not on the court have to ride their padded chairs. Maybe a few splinters in the backside like in the old days would provide some motivation.
Back-up PG is fine. The ball's gonna be in Harden's hands most of the time anyway. Douglas/Delfino are good enough. Douglas isn't terrible.
If Morey can find starting PGs like nothing, trading players like Rafer Alston and crap to get them, getting a competent backup PG will be no problem for Morey. Like a few said before, getting a superstar was the hardest part. Getting great role players is Morey's specialty.
...except he has been terrible so far in the past 2 games. He showed some promise in preseason but so far he's been awful and surely a part of the reason the lead evaporates when the bench plays. His defense hasn't stopped opponent pgs from getting to the basket and he hasn't knocked down a single fg so far...mind you he had several open looks. Maybe some part of his degraded play is due to lack of confidence, but either he needs to step it up or some other solution must be found.
I don't think Morey was worried about putting a team together before the season as this was a throw away season. No need to have a good backup center. No need to have a good backup point guard. He was not going to acquire those at the expense of getting rid of young talent. He may have to rethink things.
