Backup PG is a serious issue we need to address

We need a center bad. That Aldrich is turrible.

 

Douglas is what he is. You can't fit the square peg into a round hole. He was consistent last year with the Knicks, consistent at sucking.

 

The problem is not the backup PG, the problem is we have a FAIL coach that doesn't know how to recognize young talents. If he doesn't trust his rookies, why the hell you even draft them for?? He's playing only those that have experience, but they're garbage. It's just a matter of time before Rockets folded quickly.

 

A second unit of...

Dmo/Jones/White/Delfino/Livingston would have worked imo.
Young and athletic up front, experienced and steady in the backcourt.

Livingston in primary ball handler, offense runs through White
DMo/Jones/White can interchange positions based on favorable defensive matchups.

yes that's a huge upgrade. He did ok in preseason, but so did douglas.

IF we are willing to make a cut to add a PG, you gotta think the logical choice would be Livingston.

The main reason that I'm scared about this backup PG situation isnt because it will cost us games.... its because our prospects really need to be out there will a true floor general to help calm them down , handle the ball and keep things from getting too crazy. I think that without that presence , the progress of our rookies could really be hampered.

Also getting a true backup to run things allows you to rest both Harden and Lin. While alot of people here have said it would be nice to have one of them on the floor at all times, i think that we should instead maximize the time with both of them on the floor at the same time. They are by FAR the best combo on this team... and having them both of them on the floor at one time is where our bread is buttered. A true backup ball handler lets you do this. I'd like to see us put in a PG who will push the pace and put in some young bigs who will run with him like Jones/ Smith/Morris/D-Mo / White/Aldridge ... then at another position put in a vet like Parsons/Delfino/Cook
