Disagree. In PHX, Goran's usage is CRAZY HIGH, like when they had Nash. For Toronto, Lowry is their best player and there is no Harden-esque player there, so his usage is also sky-high. Then, how do we compare them?? You don't have to. You root for all three of them.
Dragic - 30,000,000 for 4 years Lin - 30,000,000 for 3 years Dragic > Lin If it's about value and money then they chose the opposite of smart.
And I do hope that Lin had signed the contract for 30M for 3 years and that he can donate that 5M for his church or something.
Did you really think it came down to a choice between Lin and Drgic??? Get it straight people! The choices were Lin, Ramon Session, or another leftover FA PG who was still available. Lin and Session were the top FA PG's after Rockets decided to let Dragic go. Better comparison should be Session vs Lin!
LOL! Are you writing your comments from a typewriter. Come on man, it's the 21st century, it's not too hard to actually look up the correct numbers, if you have a bad memory. "In 2012, Dragić became an unrestricted free agent. He agreed to sign a 4 year, $30 million deal with $1 million bonuses for every All-Star game he plays for with the Phoenix Suns[9] and officially became a member of the team again on July 19, 2012." "The Rockets offered a revised three-year, $25 million deal which the Knicks did not match"
It's good right now, time to celebrate. The Rockets went from one of the worst teams in the league, and two games in, they have an undefeated record. They also have the highest scoring player in the league. A young PG who has only started 27 games, and almost had a triple double. A center who got 19 boards, and again, two victories on the road. I'm curious how the haters are gonna twist this?
The wife was rushing me out the door so i had to go by my bad memory on numbers. Alright 25 for 3 and 30 for 4... 8.3 per year for Lin vs 7.5 per year for Dragic. Dragic gives a better pg for less money per year ...and a lot less risk. Letting him walk for nothing on the outside chance you can sign a RFA wasn't smart IMO. The only way I will say you got really lucky is if Dragic gets a serious injury or Lin actually attracts a star. Dragic was worth the money but he didn't have the marketing money Le$ was looking for.
Sorry but Dragic led a team that many considered stuck in the middle at .500 - never to see the playoffs.
That's because you're coming from the opinion that Dragic is better than Lin. I (and apparently the Rocket's organization) disagree.
People will always look to criticize Lin, just looking at the 21pt,10rbd,7ast look very good. Those rebounds were crucial in the 4th quarter. Sure he miss some shots but they are good shots so overall am satisfy with his performance.
Totally disagree that it would make him untradeable, risky or not worth it. Lin had way more risk on whether we would land him and would be just as untradeable as Dragic.
I completely disagree, but I'm arguing with a guy who couldn't even get the contract situation correct. Math > You
