They've been in China for over a decade but I did read they wanted to triple their store count not too long ago. I don't know if they're still planning to do that. I got burned SBUX bad when I heard they were going to open up stores in India. I basically bought Starbucks around its highs. They opened their first store in India a few days ago, btw.
Earlier this week I bought 4 shares of Apple at $625. Today I bought 2 more at $598. I'm hoping for a big bounce back in the coming weeks. Perhaps back to ~$670 level in November???
^ I hope this works out. Because I haven't made any money since starting to play the stock market last year.
You hope for too much too soon. I wouldn't mind picking up some AAPL in the 550ish range for a bounce. It's got too much downside momentum right now and there is no real reason to buy it yet imo. I'd at least like to see it form some sort of support before looking to buy. Try being more patient and don't buy stuff just to buy stuff.
lol, don't feel bad. i was in around 680. it'll probably be back, but after the holiday quarter maybe.
I got stopped out of AAPL around $625 after getting in around $390. Still pissed this thing hasn't tanked more after the latest earnings so I can get back into it. They can produce iDooDoo and it'd sell. "What? iDooDoo with Retina funk?! GOTTA HAVE IT!"
Sold my NOK stake and jumped on ARNA, looking for a jump in the 1.5-2 dollar range next week to 9.50-10. Keeping my fingers crossed lol!
Apples chart looks pretty bad right now. Don't try to catch a falling knife. Did you do any analysis of apple, or did you pick it because it was hot?
I guess it's possible. I have no idea. I don't really try to project things on a time frame like that. For me I'd just like to see the price drop further and sentiment to turn very bearish on AAPL. Like sentiment that is so bearish that the talking heads on CNBC are beginning to question the viability of AAPL. If that happens I'll be looking to trade AAPL thru some sort of options strategy.
AAPL is yielding 1.8%.....IF it ever got to a 2% yield which would put it at 530 it would be a MEGA buy. Their cash position is obscene and their dominant market position make them a safe buy and hold down there IMO. Further, they will likely increase their dividend annually going forward. For a little reference, MSFT and INTC have doubled their dividends over the past 5 year and I see no reason why AAPL can't do that. I can't see it getting to the 530ish level, but buy it and put dividend reinvestment on for 5 years if you want a safe place to put your cash.
Do you get paid dividend right as you get the stock or do you have to own the stock for a certain period of time?
The company will announce a dividend payout on a date. You need to own the stock before the ex-dividend date. This date is usually a week to several weeks before the dividend is paid. You will receive the dividend whether or not you sell the stock between the ex-dividend date and the payout date. http://seekingalpha.com/article/765801-how-ex-dividend-dates-work
No offense, but your track record calling highs and lows on Apple's stock is terrible. I guess if you keep predicting it will go down, you'll eventually be right because the stock won't go up forever.
damn, VVUS had a terrible report, down 25%, this pushed ARNA down almost 50 cents... ARNA reporting after 5pm...hopefully DEA approval
