Remember, last season Parsons didn't play a single minute in the first game of the year... then he played 17 minutes in the 2nd game. 10 days later he was starting. Our rookies will get their chance... especially if Marcus Morris keeps playing like he has been.
I don't think any of this is right. I think what McHale is doing is giving the veteran players respect (which he knows they don't deserve, he's not that type of coach) to say you've been in the league a little while, go out there and show these young guys how its done (knowing full and well they suck). When they under perform, he is gonna snatch them out of the lineup and put the Rookies in. What he is doing is making the Rookies hungry for action so that they will give 100% while out there to stay there while giving the veterans a job to lose. It's very smart actually. If the veterans start b****ing down the road about playing time he will look at them and say. STFU, you lost your job to a rookie, no excuses! It keeps those that deserve to be on the court out there and those that don't on the bench. Go McHale!
We won. Morris was coming off an ankle injury to start his first game EVER. It's alot of fun to rant and rave but why don't you let at least 5-10 games pass before calling for new line ups and new coaches. Morris is going to be one of the first off the bench tomorrow night I would bet and most of this board is gonna commit suicide when it happens.
I think you got it right, he is making the rookies hungry for playing time and stopping the veterans from b****ing if they loose their job to a rookie.
Another thing to consider is the man lost weight to play the 3 and McHale decided to use him against the big boys. Put him in a position to fail and he'll likely do so.
Everyone picked up on his sarcasm. This is a forum for diehard rockets fans, not casual NBA fans. I hope that you thinking no one picked up on it actually was sarcasm.
Was it the lost weight that caused him to miss multiple point blank lay ups? I am sure that was McHale's fault somehow.
I hope that Marcus Morris proves us all wrong and becomes a productive contributor out there on the court, unfortunately I don't see that happening...at least not in Houston.
I could be wrong about the Morris kid, and as a Houston fan, I hope that I'm wrong. Smith will be available for the next game, he was allegedly ready to go against Denver. Let's see if Coach McHale extends the rotation past 8 players.
Well maybe Terrance Jones should bleach his skin and get the Sammy Sosa/Michael Jackson look then maybe McHale will play him.
