Good job on picking up the weakest argument. Comment on TACKLES now... or are you going to tell me they're not judged by tackles, either?
I'm glad people are no longer saying Mario sucked for us. He sucks on the Bills, apparently, but he was good for us.
I was looking for articles with the interview when mario signed with the bills in march, and I found this: what does he mean by that?
Bruce Smith didn't make the HOF because of his 1,225 tackles, he made it because of his 200 sacks. Mario was on pace to get 16 sacks last year. And he was getting better every game while learning a new position. Anyone who gets 16 sacks in a year isn't going to be criticized (by anyone who knows football....) for not having enough tackles or passes defended...
It worked out for both sides Texans are 6-1. Mario is cashing in....I'm sure he has no regrets. Fans overrate how much players care about winning .....
I imagine there are a lot of players that care. Ask Jared Cook why he asked for a trade request recently...staying with TN would give him a better chance at getting top 5 money( I. E.: franchise tag) for his position....it's always about the money no doubt, but a lot of players look at the bigger picture, for a lot of players it's not only because of more money...Mario just doesn't enjoy and love the game the way other players do and it shows, but there are also other examples of players who show the passion like a Ray Lewis and care more.
You and I know too well he wouldn't have ended up with 16. He doesn't play IND and PIT all the time. I don't know football, but that just doesn't make sense.
The only guy on the team who has a chance of getting more sacks than Mario did for us is JJ watt. So change some to one and I agree with you.
He got off to a great start, but it wasn't likely that he'd finish with 16. Watt's on pace for 22, but a drop off is almost inevitable there, too. Sacks and INTs almost always come and go in spurts.
I know he wasn't going to end up with 16 sacks. I was really just making the point that this post: was totally wrong. Mario was playing great when he left Houston. He didn't start to suck until this year.
