This thread was started to talk about Lin and his game and how his improvement can help the team and l'm sorry but it was ruin by some rockets fans don't blame it on Lin fans when people start calling them names just becaude they have a difference of opinion.
Lin played well, but force somethings or taking too long trying to create which lead to a turnover and I agree with ESPN that he was the X factor in the game. He still doesnt seems confident with his jumpshots even after making those two long 2s. His no look passes where sweet.
P.S. That's why I am so psyched by Harden. Only 23 ! Knew he could play but did know this good. Someone mentioned he is like a mini Lebron. Totally agree based on the Detroit game. But will reserve my opinion for now until he plays a few more games as a starter and against better teams.
Yeah I wondered about. In the times where he was dribbling the ball to much it seemed like nothing was happening. Is that a poor decision by him or just that the team still isn't familiar with the sets? Like there was one play where Lin literally had to direct Harden for the back door cut & had the bounce pass for the Harden slam. And like was said earlier, the thing that he is really good at has yet to be implemented yet. Another thing I noticed was there were times where he split the double team but it seems like he either picked up his dribble or there was no more room to operate so he came back out because there was so odd spacing issues. He definitely doesn't have his explosiveness back yet you can tell. Those were two things I noticed. The Harden play was great but there are some serious issues amongst our starting unit that aren't being discussed because of Harden's spectacular play.
Yeah I think spacing was an issue and at the same time there weren't many offensive options other than Harden and late in the game Delfino tonight so perhaps that's why Lin was taking too long trying to create. l didn't think Parsons had a good game nor Morris. I still think Asik needs to work on his offense.
Oh noez. Veterans on internet forum had to read opinions contrary to their sensibilities. Whether you're a great writer or not you'd be better served as a HUMAN if you declined to quick draw with your "LOF" "YOF" ammo. When you start a post with crap about YOF and how you've suffered so very badly on the internet at their hands it makes you sound crusty, petulant and a bit irrelevant. Any argument or defense you espouse about substantive points of the game can stand or fall entire on its own without you making assumptions or characterizations of people who disagree with you. In simple terms, if you have to start talking about LOF even from a place of annoyance it's a key sign that you're 1) not making your point well 2) or your point is stupid and can't hold water. It's not 2002. you can probably stand down from your vigil of safeguarding Clutchfans, Southeast Texas, God and America from YOF. Soldier, you've done your job and your country honors you. Let's retire that particular paranoia along with your Windows XP, Nokia Flip and Must See TV Thursdays with all your Friends. Even China doesn't really have those people any longer. They've been watching ball now for 10 years and are light years more sophisticated than they were. As for LOF... considering Lin came from the Knicks who have some of the most knowledgeable and fans in the NBA, you can probably lay down your musket on that one as well. peace out.
Harden on Lin: "Similar to me, he can create and score the ball, so I'm excited to have him as a backcourt partner," Harden said. "We're going to make our team better." I do not see a mention of Dragic or Lowry from Beardsanity. I think all the Dragic and Lowry fans should definitely create threads about those two, so that no one will visit that thread. We are all rooting for the same team, and neither Dragic or Lowry is on that team. If you guys want to talk about how great they were, I'm sure LOFs (as we all have been labelled) will stay out, because we don't care about those two. Sure they played for the Rockets in the past, but as you can tell by my join date, I have no interest in discussing former Rockets in relation to current Rockets, especially ones that left for a player option and a guy who didn't get along with the coach. I have my opinion, and the player that I believe is better, plays for the Rockets. You have yours, and that player does not play for the Rockets. For your sake, I hope I'm right. For all our sakes, lets hope I'm right. Get it? We are all rooting for the same team, but for some odd reason, there are Rocket fans (?) that want to believe that Lin isn't as good as his predecessors? They believe this so much, that they'll hijack this thread, to prove they are right. Lets say you win the argument, what do you get then? Satisfaction in knowing that you're right, and knowing your team is worse at the PG position than in previous years? What kinda of moral victory are you Lowry/Dragic fans trying to win? It's so irrational, I simply cannot take it seriously. It's like all the old Rocket fans are still pinning for the days of Lowry/Dragic/Scola/Budinger/Martin, and unwilling to move on to a much younger, more dynamic product. We can use stats to support our arguments, and in the end, nothing changes. Except one thing, new fans will definitely have a distaste for the older fans, and vice versa. I really came to this site, to get news and information. I didn't plan on posting, because usually the more rational posters win most debates. Here, sadly, the tinmans and tinman clones are the ones tossing their weight around (is this even possible on the internet), and subjugating new members to their own code of behavior (which seems to be geared towards calling people names, and grouping all new comers as one entity). The tinmans and clones have definitely made this a hostile environment, and it leads to threads trying to diminish a current player who helped the Houston Rockets to their first victory of the season. Something is definitely wrong here. From all the insults tossed by the tinman and clones, I am see a lot of race baiting, and a lot more generalizations about new fans. Very strange. and a little troubling, but it is the internet, and there is an "ignore" option. I hope that other than tinman, I don't end up putting anyone else on that list. There are a lot of great posters on this site, and great fans, but there are also some bad ones. I hope we all call out the bad ones, and I hope that everyone works to make this site a better place, for the new and old fans alike. Since I no longer want to hijack this thread, I think this backcourt duo can be a force in the coming years. They played great together after only 2 practices, imagine how well they'll play off each other after several seasons together. I can only hope they both remain healthy, and continue their progress towards stardom.
Piston played great defense, they didn't let Lin have space at all. Harden has 4 TOs, Lin 4 TOs. One of the most overrated stat in the NBA is turnovers, if you don't create chances, you get 0 TOs. When Lin gets more chances at the basket and experience, he'll be a finisher. I hope Lin learns not to get after every ball on the defensive end, or he might get hurt again. Lin is not a finished product.
i am no lin fan, you can check my comments before. BUT, for the dragic fans here: the guy left us to pursue his big contract, why don't ya all go to phoenix to suck his balls? this is the houston rockets forum
pls suck dragic's balls in phoenix suns' forum as for Lin, he is a rockets now i wish he plays 10x better than dragic starting this season
Gogi is unproven so there is a chance he doesn't end up being better than Lin now that he is going to be a full time starter. Lowry though I don't think there's a question that he's better.
seriously, some LOF are annoying but there are few old timers are equally annoying. Rockets won their first game, lin is solid, Harden has a fantastic game. i can live with lin fans talking about lin because he is one of us. At the end of the day if LOFs are right, OUR TEAM will have a phenomenon season! but all i hear is dragic, dragic, dragic, seriously, who give the ***** about dragic now given he is gone? he was a backup pg here not exactly a lebron james for cleveland, what am i missing?
Thank you. I understand that fans on this board feel connected to Dragic, but Lin is your PG now. So if you have fans of Lin on this board, you should be rooting for the same guys. And you will see that Lin is more of a winner than Dragic will ever be.
