There has been a lot of roster turnover in the last 3 years here, man. A lot of us have been Rockets fans since we were little kids and didn't ditch the scene when Yao/T-Mac got hurt. I think player-only-fans have a real hard time understanding this. We stuck here through many failures of chasing after star players and nothing coming to fruition. A lot of us follow the NBA, but still stay tried and true to the Rockets. We don't go chase around who's sexy at the moment and go onto other boards and discuss basketball as much as clutchfans. We bleed red, and I hope LOFS/whatever stick around for a long time and learn to love the team and the city. Houston needs more fans and spotlight inorder to attract superstars to compete in today's NBA.

Take it easy on "haters", fellas. A lot of them just don't like people who quit on their respective teams, and not gone through the pain and agony of stick through thick and think. The very fact that you left the Knick boards reminds them of people who left the Rox boards when Yao/Tracy got hurt and times were not good, or even when we had to see Hakeem retire a Raptor.

Nice post. I think once the new Rockets win enough games then things will change ~ For the record - for readers of this thread.

It’s Game 1 of 82 or in the case of last season, 1 of 66 — it is worth noting that the Rockets have lost their last three season openers and have not reached the playoffs since the 2008-09 campaign,

There was a lot of no calls. He was being aggressive, and driving to the hoop, but the refs swallowed their whistles when he drove. I didn't see Lowry or Dragic play, because I don't care about those two, but Lin played well. I think there's a lot of room for improvement. He hit some long 2s, so his perimeter shooting looks much better than it did in preseason. The real story of course is Harden. Lin had a solid game. The bench looked awful. Morris looked awful. Asik showed some offensive moves today, he had a couple of reverse layups. Overall, an uneven performance from the Rockets, but when someone pumps up the stats with 37 pts and 12 assists, it erases the mistakes made by the team.

Well I don't agree with his opinion. Maybe time will change his opinion plus some more games under Lin's belt.

I don't think he has 'hatred' for Lin since he mentioned that he thinks he's a good guy.

I saw that. It's a shame that someone gets labled a racist because they don't think Lin is a good basketball player. His fans can't handle criticism at all. He's a good story who had a nice stretch of games. I have no problem with him being our backup pg and I think he will ultimately play a role in bringing another star to Houston. Much like yourself, I'm excited to see Harden in a Rockets uniform. Great trade.

What's sad is your 'analysis' of Dragic and Lowry versus Lin. The one game sample size with a conclusion that the two former Rockets are losers compared to Lin is comical. Exactly what has Jeremy Lin won? Where has this 'winning' manifested itself?

With all that said, I am okay with him as the point until we get a real point guard. Dragic may be better suited as a back up and Lowry may be injury prone, but they are both better than Jeremy Lin.

Very sensible post. I understand exactly what you are saying, but... coming from a person that arrived as a fan of Lin, I've seen a lot of "you're not welcome here" signs. I know these guys are the minority, but it does bother people, and I am not impervious to the effects of unfriendly people. Today, I am happy, and am happy to argue with the tinman clones.

So tonight was his potential? Hmmm I guess Lin has peaked in his 26th game as a starter and will never improve.

I didn't label him a racist, until he said, "LOFs fans can eat stinky tofu and dance gandum style(or something close to that)." That is racist, and I personally will not let it slide, and I think all decent people shouldn't allow racism to flourish. Whether it's on the internet or real life. That's how I roll.

You seem angry. May I suggest a brisk walk or a stress ball? It's pretty lame that people aren't entitled to their opinion on Lin as a basketball player. You may want to read my other posts before making yourself look like an idiot. He's a Rocket and a great story. Im certainly rooting for him. Unfortunately, I just don't see him as a starting pg

Why do we constantly let a few extremist posters, either extremely pro Lin or anti Lin, shape the perceptions we have for everyone that posts positive or negative things about Lin? It has turned this board from being one community that roots for the Rockets to class warfare.

I root for team first, then players second. And this also means that I root for the players that are on the Rockets because I support the team. Jeremy Lin is a Rocket, therefore I will root for him. As much as I miss Lowry and Dragic and feel that they would have been better fits for the current state of the Rockets, they are on separate teams now, so they take a backseat to my support for the Rockets and Jeremy Lin. Why can't everyone be the same?? Be like the perfect fan??

Your opinion. I saw Linsanity, and it was epic. Didn't see Dragic, didn't see Lowry, and don't care about the butt-hurt fans of either. Your GM decided to trade, and let go both of them. There is no reason to compare Dragic/Lowry to Lin. They weren't traded for each other. Lin came in, when Toney Douglas was basically the incumbent starting PG. You want to argue Machado/Livingston vs Lin, I'm in. Dragic/Lowry, who the f cares. I'm only dissing them, just to get under the skin of the LOHs, just like the LOHs get under my skin.
