I'm telling you, just go to the studios, bang on the windows when they're doing a show. Bring your signs and everything.
OK-- I REALLY want to watch the Hawks game on Friday. But I have AT&T U-Verse. I thought NBA League Pass would be solution--but no! Game was blacked out in area. ..What options do I have? I mean, I don't think U-Verse allows me to of add CSN. As crazy as it may sound, I MISS hearing Clyde's cliches and Matt Bullard's praising charge calls. What are my options (( ??? (Besides streaming online, of course) Has anyone heard any updates about CSN/FSN/Comcast/etc?
The update is that there is no deal with DirecTv, Dish and Uverse. They say they are still talking. No options really, besides finding a bar/restaurant that shows the games.
I'm beyond upset I can't watch this team yet. UVerse needs to get something done. This is driving me crazy.
The sad thing is I don't see any pressure being put on either side really from the media. Chron.com has some stories about it, but it's basically a fact piece...not really attacking the station or giving a voice to the fans. Why won't someone ask the Rockets/providers the tough questions?
I really feel bad for you guys. Here in Austin, I ordered LP this afternoon, and sat back and watched a debut game for the ages by James Harden, with Jeremy Lin playing very well in the backcourt with him, showing a lot of why he was signed, and Asik anchoring the defense in the paint, just a rebound shy of a double double. I can't believe they haven't fixed this so Houston can watch their freakin' team on the tube in their own freakin' city. While I was ordering LP, Les Alexander was spending $80 million bucks to sign Harden, so it's hard to blame that side for anything. This is a bizarre situation. Bizarre and unacceptable.
Arrghghh... seriously. This is absolutely ridiculous. It's bad enough that local, network (non-cable) people can't watch anything. BUT AT&T, Dish, and DirectTV all can't either? That's like saying you need Reliant energy in order to cool your home (oops--sorry Centerpoint, TXU, Direct users, too bad!) Why the hell would the Rockets organization even allow this? They're depriving locals of the right to watch their precious Beardsanity show (no disrespect to the players, lol, I'm beyond happy at tonight's victory)--it's only going to make buying tickets less appealing.
Deck, it really is unacceptable. I understand there is money to be made but damn. Enough is enough, get it worked out. I just deleted a long rant. JUST GET THE DEALS DONE!!
Totally unacceptable. That this hasn't been resolved before the first game of the season is rediculous.
If you were confident a deal would take place, couldn't you release the channel beforehand as a sign of good faith? For instance, let fans view the channel and not miss the first 2 weeks while you progress the talks. Makes zero sense.
Rockets games might not be on for over 2 weeks on DirecTV from what I am hearing. This is a freaking travesty.
My brother, who lives in Washington D.C., wrote me after the game and said, "Did you see the box score? Are you sure you want to skip this season?" So I looked at the box score and read the story and wrote him back and said, "No, I'm NOT sure. I hate that I'm missing the season. But I'm not going to follow it by reading the box scores." I can dig on a lock-out way more than I can deal with a local TV black-out. I'd much rather they weren't playing at all than playing games so many of us can't watch.
You can still listen to the games on the radio, or if you're willing watch a low-quality online feed.
I work at night during the week and I work both days and nights on weekends. I've been DVR'ing the games for years. And everyone I know is trained not to spoil anything for me until I've gotten home and watched the game. But I'm not home at 7:30 to listen to the game on the radio. I don't get finished with work until 10 or 11 or sometimes later than midnight. And then the first thing I have done, for so many years I used to rely on VHS, was to watch the game. Always. And I never missed a game. I don't believe I should be expected to follow my home team on the radio or via internet. I should have been able to come home from work tonight and watched the season opener, one of the most exciting events of my year for decades. I don't live in North Carolina or South Dakota though, both places where I could watch the games on any cable provider. I have the misfortune of being a Rockets fan that lives in Houston, the one city in the world where you have to change to one specific cable provider to watch the hometeam play. Thanks again, Les. I hope you're enjoying your money.
You're kidding, right? The Chronicle works for the Rockets, not you. The Chronicle continues to say you are happy with the change to CSN. The Chronicle is a part of the problem, not solution. David Barron puts on the kneepads when he shows up at work and doesn't take them off until he leaves to go home.
No radio station carrying the Rockets in Eastern Texas; we are completely blacked out, ridiculous. I have been watching the games up here for years.

Not being able to watch sux! I blame the greedy 1%! Not really... I do blame the Rockets organization and it starts with the brass.
