Excellent point. I've never seen fans who express disdain for a player who just helped their team win and in the same breath label themselves as "true fans" of the team. Lowry and Dragic both lost tonight. Rockets won. I'm sleeping happy tonight knowing the future is bright. These self-proclaimed "true Rockets fans" will curiously be tossing and turning. Curious.
Tomtom you must be kidding if you claim to be a rocket fan. Lol Calling LOF fan girls? C'mon . Stop hiding behind your PC and Trollin with a black dildo coated with Croat lube inside your ass. Stupid fu*kers
The comparisons to Lowry/Dragic by the fanbase here are inevitable. On some level, any evaluation of a player is always relative and comparative. If the comparison is not to ex-Rockets, then it's to other PGs in the league; none of us watch players in a vacuum. That's just how it is. There's just no reason why bringing up other players for comparison has to end up in a crazy war like this. As some here have brought up, Rox fans have enjoyed good PG play for a long time, so expectations are high. I think that's a perspective newer fans should keep in mind. At the same time, people who followed Lin from NY to Houston, that's a different perspective -- keep in mind that the Knicks haven't had good PG play for ages. So people are coming from different places I think. As the season goes on, everyone will share more of a common reference point than now -- it's only been one game! -- and hopefully this LOF vs LOH bull**** will stop. The team pulled out a win despite the homery refereeing. Enjoy it! Let's stop this madness please.
Lin does a lot of little things that impact the game that don't show up on stats. I think this is why he's so valuable. The ironic thing is, even though he's notorious for turnovers, when Lin is on the floor the team is more under control and seems to have more chemistry on both ends of the floor. These are the things that win games. Lin helps make the whole team better. This is what Harden does, too. That's why I think these two together are going to be lethal. This is their first game together and they already have good chemistry. Imagine how this will develop. The make each other better. Lin did hang onto the ball a little too much tonight. Not WAY too much. Just a little too much at times. But at least he's trying to play aggressively, rather than what he did in the preseason. Many people already comparing Lin to Dragic/Lowry are getting ahead of themselves. Give Lin a little time before you start making comparisons.
Fair enough. I just found that question comical. Of course the media plays a part in the sensationalism that annoyed some of the fans
<br> 1) Lin did not have a good statistical game, that's the point of this discussion for most of us. Shooting ~40%, poorly from 3, and having 4 turnovers is not the best showing. I do however feel like that'll improve as he gets acclimated to playing here. 2)He needs to average those numbers or have that sort of impact on this team to justify not giving Goran a player option. He has to beat out what he replaced. This is more so we can see if Morey made the right call on Lin or not than anything that actually has to do with Lin. He's all we got for now and have to live with it. 3)They did average those numbers for huge stretches last year. Not to mention their sample size is a lot bigger than the Linsanity time frame. 4) You are out of your mind if you think Lin is a better defensive player than Lowry. Him and Dragic are about equal though. 5) What a stupid point. Lin only cares about winning? Yeah i'm pretty sure most every NBA player only cares about winning. Aside from d00ds like Eddy Curry of course
I'm a rocket fan and have been on CF for years and I'm disappointed to say that there are some rocket fans here that will use the excuse that Lowry and Gogi are gone because of Lin. We all know that's not true but as we're seeing some would like to ignore that fact to make up their own fabrication. As for me, I could care less for Lowry and Gogi since they didn't get the Rockets to the playoffs with an unquestionably better team than this. If Lin get's us there this year then he's the better pg in my book. For now, welcome Mr. Lin and keep on winning games. 12/8/4/4 is alright with my any day.
Why are you mad, "Linboy"? Because I'm not a cockriding fangirl like you. You seem to like to talk about people getting their ass f'. hahahahahahahhahahahahahaha We are know you're gay. Just come out already "Linboy". hahahahahahahah
How am I trolling? I don't think Lin is anything more then a backup pg. i've said that since last year. I do think he's a good kid and a draw for Houston. Nothing wrong with that as he's only signed to a 3 year deal. If his marketability helps bring another star to Houston alongside Harden then his contract is worthwhile.
It's the first game of the year, so I understand I am more optimistic then pessimistic. I think Parsons can play much better than what he exhibited tonight. I definitely want to see what Jones and D-mo can bring off the bench. Was pleasantly surprised by Smith, and Delfino. But really, it's Harden I'm excited about. That backcourt looked so fast today. Harden does thing effortlessly, I was simply amazed. I'm hoping the rest of the team gels on defense, sooner than later. This is exciting basketball. Morris struggled today mightily, and I'd prefer Jones to start over him, until PPat comes back. The real problem is the backup PG, I've seen what Douglas can do, and even though I like him as a person, Livingston should've gotten the nod over Douglas and Machado. I don't know what happened there.
well its true... if you guys are like this when the team wins.... id hate to see what it will be like if they lose... or Lin has a bad night...
I wouldn't recommend following anyone named the tinman. I know both those guys are good, but personally, I think Lin is much better. Beyond that, none of those two guys plays for the Rockets, why so fixated on arguing about players THAT AREN'T ON YOUR TEAM? tinman would disapprove of anything not currently associated with the Rockets.
At least be fair when you post the stats. Lin also had 4 steals. Game is over now so: Kyle Lowry- 21 points (6/11), 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals, and ONLY 2 turnovers on 55% fg, 66% 3fg, 7-7 ft. Goran Dragic- 17 points (4/12... most points from FT), 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 block, 3 steals, 3 turnovers Jeremy Lin- 12 points (5/12), 4 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals, 4 turnovers So from those stats Dragic and Lin played comparably. Dragic got more points but mainly from FT. I have DirecTV so didn't get to watch game so not sure if because Lin didn't get calls or was not aggressive on driving in to get foul calls. And Lowry looks like he had a really good night all around.
