Stop the bickering... Lin doing his job + Harden doing his job = a win (the most important thing) Lin was not brought to Houston to be the go-to scorer. He was brought here to run an offense. Harden was brought here to be the go-to scorer. Nuff said.
Lol... I didn't expect lin to be a superstar. If you go into it with that expectation, they you won't be disappointed. He does help win games though. That's what you should go into these games expecting. I guess it's for what's he's paid, but really, part of the money is for marketing and part of it is for productivity. He did good enough to meet both rolls... as long was we win eh? I do think he has potential once he gets his confidence up. Maybe that's the Asian side of me talking. With that said and objectively, he really is a good pg. You really can't deny some of the great passes he was making.
Wow this thread was a mess. I see a lot of hypocrites accusing some Lin fans of being Lin fans and taking up for him, meanwhile they are also doing a similar, but worse thing, by bashing Lin and being fans of Lowry/Dragic. What's worse? Lin fans who support him and the Rockets because of Lin, a CURRENT Rocket player.....or Lowry/Dragic who dislike Lin because of FORMER Rocket players that are currently on another team? Just saying...
All these LOF/LOH/whoever-else-is-out-there debates are getting annoying to read. Can't we just be excited that the starting backcourt look so good together after being assembled only about a week ago? Harden's already a stud, but I don't think he's reached his potential yet. Coming off the bench and playing mostly against bench units has really hindered his growth imo. As the #1 guy here, he's going to get a chance to really improve his game. The only way to grow as a player is if you play against the best players on other teams. Same with Lin. I think there's still lots of potential, but he's going to have to really work on some of his weaknesses. Like the OP said, if Lin plays up to his potential and Harden continues to grow, they're easily one of the best starting backcourts in the NBA.
That's not usually what happens. This is not a new phenomenon here exactly. We have a lot of experience with it.
Lowly lost tonight. So did Dragic. Dragic missed a FT down by 3 and with 7secs left in the game. Then he dished off the ball without giving the shooter any chance to make a shot before the buzzer sounded off. Rockets got a win with Lin at PG. Rockets broke 100 pts. Both Raptors and Suns didn't even break 90. Lin isn't as good offensively as those two, but he brings something that can't be recorded by stat numbers. Lin just finds a way to win.
Why are these Gogi/Lowry nut guzzlers so bitter??? Worry about what's on the team now, don't bring up the past like some little girls...
I will be here for the next 6 years. If I knew Harden was coming to Houston, my screen name would've been different. Lin was the only attraction for me, because I was not a fan of any former Rocket's player before Lin arrived. I am instant fangirl of Harden, Asik, and really, all of the Rockets. I was so entertained today, it was great basketball. And Harden, my god, I never knew he was capable of this. I am even a fan of Douglas, as long as the Rockets keep winning, but the minute they stop, I will turn on Douglas. LOL.
What does it mean when people ask can Lin be the next Yao Ming? CSN Houston had a teaser promo with a reporter asking that.
