You and ubigred and have a real agenda against people that have a belief that Watt can win MVP. It's not likely, but nobody here is being a homer for putting Watt in the discussion for MVP. I've seen fans from OTHER teams put Watt as a top 2 candidate with Ryan or Manning thus far. There's nothing homer about this at all.
That is true. I'm in Nashville, and when they started talking about Peyton, they immediately included Watt in the discussion.
I have no agenda, I just want you people to be realistic. It is one thing to say Watt is having an MVP type season. It is another thing to say that no offensive player has been that impressive this season. That is total and complete BS. That is where the homer glasses come in. You can't dismiss the seasons Rodgers and Manning are having. I'm willing to bet if Matt Schaub was on pace for 40TDs 4500 yards and 110 passer rating, that people here would be saying he was having an MVP season.
The Broncos will be favored in every remaining game. The only team they play with a winning record is the Baltimore Ravens. I think Peyton will win the MVP.
It would be nice if he did. It would mean a monumental shift in the voting to reward defensive players instead of the QB or record setting RB award that it has become.
In this article in NFL.com, Gregg Rosenthal writes about the MVP candidates, right now, he has JJ Watt at first place http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000088204/article/jj-watt-leads-matt-ryan-in-nfl-mvp-forecast so, not only the homers are saying, he should be the MVP.
I think it comes down to whether he breaks the record because we know the PD will be there. By some accounts, he should have had 11.5, while playing a lot of games double teamed and even triple teamed...I predict 26 by end of reg. season...so he is going to give the deciders a tough decision. .
Rodgers doesn't deserve the MVP because he isn't as good as the run-away MVP he was last year. That is a good reason to have him 8th. It is the voters that have to change their minds. I think you will find writers tha believe Watt should be MVP, but that doesn't mean they think that is who is going to win. It is about those 50 guys with a vote. I think Watt as the best defensive player in football is the MVP, I don't think he can win, barring a miracle.
jaja, If you look at my posts in the thread for "schaub in the mvp race", I clearly stated I believed Manning would win it. Granted, i was talking about little manning. But I'm objective. I just look down on your pessimistic attitude for our own players when you claim to be a Texans fan. It's silly. I just listed projected stats. You know very well if any other QB was headed for a 4,000 yard season, 23 tds with 8 ints and their team was a superbowl contender, you would be the first one having to wipe all the excitement from the computer screen. It's okay if you want to cuddle in Rodgers basement but know that you have excellent players on the team you're allegedly a "fan" of.
