There were only 2 small forwards on that team. Since there was no choice, Budinger became the exception to the rule.

Stop just saying things and hoping they are true, Romney. Parsons did NOT play game 1 last year. Terrance Williams was given all the minutes behind Chase at the 3. Why? Seniority had something to do with it I would imagine.

I'm not saying Morris should be the starter for the future, but it's ridiculous to be this upset after 1 game. Especially when it's no different than last year. A year where McHale showed even rookies can earn time quickly.

I think McHale is just giving Marcus Morris and the other vets a shot to carry this team. If that doesn't pan out, if Morris doesn't do well (likely) then we know T.Jones is the future.

You think if we had one spot on this team between Morris and Jones that McHale wouldn't pick Jones 10 out of 10 times? McHale knows T.Jones is a stud.

Jones needs to play. He is versatile.

Thing is here - T-Jones finishes Hard on all the fumbling bumbling layup misses by Morris - this is fact. I hope Mo gets his head straight - but the fact that coach Mac went with Morris (and Cook) as long as he did was a MAJOR head scratcher

Hey man, its not like I'm following you around threads and waiting to pounce.

Anyways, still think McHale is a fool for playing Morris for whatever reason; at the end of the day glad we got the win.

If McFail keep playing garbage veteran players, he might as well play himself out of the job lol.

Based on this game ALONE, YES just one game alone, I feel McFail needs to be fired. I am serious. There is no coach in their right mind that would not start a potential rookie (proven in pre-season games) that are 10x better than a garbage 2nd year veteran. And there is no justification for not starting him. If you say Morris can spread the floor for Lin and Harden, well Jones can too! In fact, not only he can shoot, he can rebound block shots and hell of a player when it come to attacking the basket like Lin and Harden. In fact, Jones complement better with Lin and Harden because like them, Jones also attack the basket ferociously.

Yeah there is NO justification WHATSOEVER why he would do that. RIIIIIGHT..... You know so much about what goes on behind closed doors/ off-court. You sound intelligent.

McHale is a VERY mediocre coach. I'll never be much of a fan. Even in his timeouts, you can tell he is not a leader. The guys don't really pay too much attention to him in the same manner you see guys listening to Pop, Doc, etc....

Yes, he's kind of new to coaching, but really, it's just not there. He would be better served as an assistant.

I am not going to judge this season's rotations yet, but we alll know that McHale blew the Rockets playoff chances last season. I place all the blame on him.

Having Scola and Patterson together when Marcus Camby and Sam were making a huge difference cost us a playoff bid.

Mchale won't be here long. He'll finish his contract, but as the Rockets acquire more talent and bigger names, he won't be able to handle it. His playbook is weaker than Del Negros.

I'd take Rick or Jeff back any damn day of the week.

Yea i was like wtf. And it's only 4mins before the end of the 3rd quarter. Harden didn't even need to sit.

After just one stinking game in which we're lucky to escape the win due to heavy minute play by Harden, i feel there is a lot of blame on McFail for contributing to many of the Rockets loss later on as the season go on....there is no question about it. His substitution pattern sucks so bad that it just make you want to punch him in the face as to wake him up...like wtf are you doing?

People are forgetting about McHale's coaching philisophy; offensively, you try to score in the paint and defensively you guard the paint. This is where the game is won and lost.

This has NOTHING to to with senority or NBA experiences. As of now the best PF's/C's defending the paint, rebounding, and guarding the opposition 5's and big 4's:
    1. Asik
    2. Smith
    3. PPat
    4. Morris
    5. Jones and Dmo (tie)
    6. White (distance 6)

Whoever can guard the rim and rebound better will get the most PT. It's that simple.

I don't make idiotic statements such as "there's NO justification whatsoever". You guys are like kids who cry about things they don't have answers to.
